Tale as old as time.

Bard's Tale IV: Barrow's Deep, is coming soon, DRM-free to GOG.com.
More than 100 years later, evil is back, as it tends to do. Pick one of four available classes (yes, you don't have to be a bard) and before you know it you'll be crawling through cavernous dungeons or the legendary city of Skara Brae, solving puzzles, bopping beasties in a turn-based fashion and having a grand ol' time. Along with your party and your shiny gear, of course.

LynetteC: Spotted this just as the page was loading. I sincerely hope that's not the final price!!!
Wouldn't surprise me. Did you see the price of Kingdom Come:Deliverance?
GTX 970 as minimal? Seems like they're treating customers the same way they treat us with new Torment; like complete morons.

Not gonna buy until it hits -75% on sales.
"minimum requirements" is the setup with lowest spec the developers have tested it on. it does not mean it can not run on weaker setups, but if you buy it then you are on your own. the devs can not guarantee how well it will run, as they do not have the same gear to test it on. a warning, basically.

Yeah, maybe a demo will be provided. It's good that demos are back.
Hoping gag won't find a way to ruin something good. I want this game. But here? Or there? Who can say.

Giving InXile records of broken promises to backers of their crowdfunding campaigns, I wouldn't hold my breath. Hopes it turn out good but too many shady things happens behind that company doors.
Good! I hope backers will get GOG keys on time.

I wonder how it will perform with Mesa.

amund: I hope you don't have to play the previous games to understand the story and its world, I would probably never play those so a summary or something would be good. Also, why does this game have loot boxes? Looks like it does from the trailer.

Anyway, wishlisted for now, it looks decent enough.
You definitely don't. The originals, while having the ability to port your party from one game to the next, were ultimately stand alone titles. There's stuff in the game that lets you get caught up on what happened in the original games and there are various other callbacks, too, but you will be fine coming into the game fresh. After all, it's been 100+ years since the events of Bard's Tale III: Thief of Fate, so it's a clean slate for old and new players alike.

Since BT in the end became all about time travel, a hundred years is nothing...

It would actually be awesome if you could import your BT3 party...

Alexim: It's a shame that as far as I know the first The Bard's Tale has yet to be upgraded to the latest version on GOG. Maybe for the occasion they will update it, otherwise I don't see why buy a sequel that could be abandoned as well.
There is something going on with it. I'd say it's weird and not like regular inXile.

aluinie: Saw this on kickstarter and paid some cash hopefully can get a gog key and not a steam key for it.
That will definitely be an option for you.

ChrisGamer300: I really look forward to this one because it's been far too long without a proper Bards Tale game, i guess it still remains to see how similar/good it will be but atleast it won't be an subpar Arpg.
Looks like it's not an arpg, but a turn based one...But still, will snag it nonetheless!

Surely we will have chance to choose, I would be more afraid we would get the basic version instead of Deluxe Edition, even if you supproted them for Deluxe Edition.

But in General, inXile are good when dealing with KS, so I don´t expect any major hitches here.

I was actually refering to the 2005 spin off not the main series Bard's Tale, I disliked the 2005 game personally and meant that in the worst scenario atleast it won't turn out like it and instead be more similar to the older installments.

IFW: You should watch the videos here to see why you need a 970 at least - especially the in-engine footage :)
https://bardstale.inxile-entertainment.com/

If they'd stayed on Unity the minimum would be probably 1070 instead...
Turn based game, not action oriented, which relies a lot on nostalgia from players who used to play the original games, and ask for that kind of hardware...as I said, good luck with that.

Yes, so why should one buy this if he/she has anything lower than that?

I am sorry but it is insanely high requirement for a turn based rpg.
