One flew over Cthulhu's nest.

Asylum is coming soon DRM-free.

Within the Hanwell Mental Institute, walls continue upright, bricks meet neatly, floors are firm, and doors are sensibly shut.
But that's the only sensible thing to be found in this place of unrest, where memories of unspeakable horrors await the first-person adventurer who's come looking for the spiritual successor to Scratches and an homage to spookfests of old.
Oh, at last!
Please hurry up, me and my computer are not getting any younger.

Though I'm lucky with Scratches on my GOG shelf, I hope others too will get the opportunity to buy the DRMfree version here (again).
And what about the haunting Serena?
Serena is FREE to download from:
Serena for Windows file - Indie DB.

As an addition to the free GOG games, it could be a mouthwatering appetiser, and reduce the waiting-time for Asylum.

A "Welcome" to the dev Augustin and thank you for a lot of gaming fun.

Agustin: ... And yes, we are definitely planning a physical edition. We're torn between an Infocom-like grey box or fake VHS. We'll ask fans what they prefer....
Thanks for the info, I know who's gonna buy at least one ;) May I also ask if the physical edition will be DRM-free? Also, I would like to know if you have any idea of where it might be available (e.g. publisher's website, amazon). Anyway, very good news! Thanks again.
Wow, this looks like it's going to be really good! Does whatever walks there walk alone?

Thanks! When we talked about Serena, GOG wasn't doing many free games. We'll ask about bringing it here again.

Panaias: Agustin, I wish you the best when Asylum gets released, I am sure it will be amazing. Out of curiosity, are you planning on a physical retail edition? I like collecting those :) (which reminds me, I need you to sign my physical Scratches edition box, it is definitely one of the best first-person adventures I've ever played)

Agustin: Thanks for the heads up, all! I'm orange now :D

PS: Well, I *should* be orange. Eventually.
This game is really very promising, interesting that among the inspirations there are the movies of the great Lucio Fulci!
Let us know how to buy the physical version when it's ready, and thanks for the inclusion of the achievements!

We're vehemently opposed to any form of DRM, so no worries about that. Preservation of software is way more important than losing a bunch of copies to piracy.

As for availability, no idea yet. It may be a limited run, so most likely it will be distributed through our site. We'll be taking preorders when the time comes, though.

This is the best promotion for Asylum you can get here! LOL
Thanks for this clear position.
GOG should quote this on the game page.

Not to sound like a shill or anything (since I'm sorta in league with Agustin), but for what it's worth, if you want to keep up with the latest info on Asylum, the best place to do so is on Senscape's Discord server. Also, as a bonus incentive, if you talk enough there, you can get a free Scratches key. They also have a subcommunity that swarms about there who does some sorta "group play" thing of adventure games, if you're into that sorta gig. Also, as a way better bonus incentive, if you need somebody to talk to there so you can get the free Scratches key, I'm also there, so there's that to consi-

Scratches needs to return to GOG. I managed to nab it before it got taken off but it's a masterpiece of horror.

Oh my, Asylum right around the corner and drm-free! Looking forward to be an inmate!
Can vouch for Agustin having poured so much love into this game it would be impossible for love not coming back out of it.
He has seen it all, engine changes (had to throw away his own baby), workplaces closing (had to fire an alien too!), trying to get two projects running simultaneously (damn greedy lovecraft offspring), being a slave (exposure only work on serena), psychological horror (writing long uplifting and interesting work tales for the kickstarter updates).
Alas, he pulled through surviving this long time on what must have been cheap slasher movies from abandoned video rental places, to give us his Video Game.
May it haunt us for a long time.

Once again, I pay my respects to you for your statements about DRM. (First time I paid my respects to you was many years ago when Scratches first came out). Thanks for all the useful info and please keep us updated here whenever possible!
Any decade now...
Great to see Agustin come here as soon as the announcement was made.

Looking forward to the release, more so after seeing the sys requirements.

*tips hat*

Agustin: Actually, you don't need a strong PC to play it! Backers have been testing the game and reported good performance even on modest notebooks. And we still have optimizations left to do :) [...]
But how will the optimisations affect the need for heart medication? ;-P
LOL, this game has been "coming soon" for years now.
