mechmouse: And any regionalisation for English speakers too, games like this tend to be US centric. I've no idea which State the Grand Canyon is in. To be fair I don't know which county Cheddar Gorge is in either
This is interesting, yes, considering the UK version of the show was "Are You Smarter Than a 10-Year-Old?"

In Germany we had (still have?) something similar:

Luke! Die Schule und ich – VIPs gegen Kids
(Luke! The school and I - VIPs against kids)

In each episode, four VIPs (divided in two pairs) were set against four students.

The students came from three different grades (elementary school, middle school, high school) and the rounds were divided in: 1-4 elementary school, 5-8 middle school and 9-12 high school (so, 12 students in total/episode).

I haven't watched it regularily (maybe one or two episodes), due to the channel being a private one (meaning: lots and lots of commercial breaks - too many for me to enjoy), but from what I remember, it seemed to be funny and educational.
