I played all the way through it, so it was good enough, I guess. I don't finish a game if it cant keep my attention, with the exception of DA2, which I powered through to justify spending money on it. The boat rocking took some getting used to. I have it on xbox somewhere in my closet.

I enjoyed it a lot. More than RE4, actually.

thats what i thought it was ages ago - it'll be dirt cheap at some point though, and as it is I have other games to be playing right now, so not a major bummer.

I remember this game. I rented it for a week to play it on PS2 many years ago (2005 or 2006), and it wasn't bad at all. I can't remember very well though, but I do remember having a lot of fun while it lasted. It is very similar to a Resident Evil Code Veronica X + Resident Evil 4. It wasn't that scary though, but with a good quantity of bloody action.
I didn't know it was developed for others platforms too (including PC... :P)

I, too, had a lot of games pass under my radar that ended up on not just consoles, but PC. For the longest time I've been devoted to consoles, basically since the beginning of the PS2 era, with just the occasional big shooter, strategy, or MMO taking up a bit of time, with consoles the rest. But A LOT of games did come out on PC.
Maybe a PC port of this is a possibility some day, seeing the developer and the publisher have games here already :)
One can hope!

Cold Fear is rather good from what I remember, the ship in the storm setting certainly gives it a spooky setting, it's a bit like that movie Virus. =)

Has anyone ever played this game? If so, how was it from your point of view?
If you haven't played it or even heard of it, here's a trailer with lots of gameplay footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoVKocr56Io
Lately I've been trying to re-discover games I missed out on way back when I was too busy or simply un-aware of what was out there. Around 2005 the next gen was rearing up and I believe 360 and Wii first came out that year, with PS3 in 2006. Cold Fear came out in 2005 on PS2 and I didn't even know it existed until it had been out a few years.
My guess is it's not exactly a resident evil, nor the best game in it's class, but definitely not the worst.
You can vote for it here if you haven't already and want to: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/cold_fear

Wow, that's quite the necro :P
I remember that the game started off extremely well and had a very strong horror theme going, but approximately one third into the game the action part starts to take over. It remained creepy, even very creepy in places, but you were armed to the teeth and can could easily take out any monster. Well, except there was this one kind, which crawled on walls if memory serves, that remained extremely dangerous right until the end. It's Very good game I feel. Only real criticism I had was the stupidly easy final boss.

I remember this game a while back but never finished it. It would make a great addition to the GoG library.
