Man I wish Red Dead (or other EA games) made it to GOG, especially DRM free. In the meantime... what's the closest to that? Please don't say Gun, I loved it, but ... that was on PS2, it's pretty darn old. Are there any newer open world westerns on GOG?

Well if you want western themed games newer then '' Gun '' that's similar to Red dead thats on here I think you are pretty much out of luck as the only other games even close to similar thats western and similar to Red dead is the ''Call of Juarez'' Games which the first game in that ip series is from 2006 next is 2009 and the last one we got here is from 2013

Side note what you see as old (ps2 era) I don't see as old I see 90's and further back then that as old

Um those games are not on Gog at this time if you were suggesting them as the person seems to want games similar to Red Dead that are on Gog

Well, that's going to be a problem, there's not even a Western Genre Tag on GOG.

Ya though to be fair it does bring up games with a western theme in general atleast.. even if nowhere near all of em..

Though I must say most games are nowhere similar to Red dead as a whole as there was not many as far as I am aware that has taken the red dead formula and feel old or new and using it for themselves in a western games.. its why many people point to Gun as the closest one can find

But ya if one wants on some level western themed games on gog there is plenty but no tag to really find that many of the majority thats on here and out of all of them not many like red dead exist

To be honest, I think Gun is great and I really enjoyed playing it. For me it was one of the first games with very convincing riding mechanics that was also very nice to look at.

Are there any other open world westerns at all? I don't think it's crowded genre. I'm afraid the best you can do is forget the open world part, focus on the western and get Call of Juarez games while they are on sale, and Desperados if you're ok with a challenging tactical game.

You realize that not that many western games exist, right? it's not matter of being an old game or not, you simply don't have many options :shrug:

Outlaws is another western game and available on GOG as new or old, and there are a bunch of other games at GOG with West in the title, and some of those are western based, and perhaps even open world to some degree, in some cases ... not like Red Dead of course.

I see that my latest email from Epic, says something about Red Dead Redemption now being available on PC. Perhaps that holds promise for eventually turning up at GOG.

There is nothing close to Red Dead, neither on GOG nor anywhere else in existence.

If it's western you want you're out of luck. However if you want something similar there's always Witcher 3.
