Awesome! Thank you Bitwave and GOG for continuing to bring these classic games here.
Was there a bundle for the other games? I don't remember seeing one.

I don't think there was a bundle as a separate item, but if you buy the four previous games at the same time then there is a bundle discount (38% I think). You can test it by putting those games in your cart and then the discount should be showing up.

There was an option on a single game's page in the lower right corner to buy all the games together to a reduced price. I got this intel from the original forum post for the Toaplan shooters and was exactly waiting for that kind of info. Will try to find it for you,

Slap Fight... With that kind of name I wouldn't expect it to be a shmup.

Perhaps you prefer Alcon, how it is also known in North America.
Looks retro cool, but I'm going for a bit better pricing.

That sounds indeed better. Japanese games using English titles can be quite odd. On the other side of the coin, we've got such beautiful Western-name-changes such as SCAT (originally Final Mission) as well - whyever anyone thought that was ever a good idea I shall never know.

Slap fight always reminds me of the flash game that the La-mulana dev made, where girlies engage in a slap fight. It's called Rose & Camellia, by Nigoro. They made 2 of them and a 3rd one as La-mulana crossover. They also made Mekuri master, my favourite really.... after La-mulana ofc.

I was thinking the same thing. They call a game where you're fighting in a plane with cannons a slap fight?

What's next, a movie where someone points a gun at someone and says: "I'm gonna slap you in the face!"

Well, the game is from '86 and Japanese games were known for poor translations, often featuring some serious Engrish. That gave us so many iconic lines and memes though. Imo it has that 80's-90's charm where you kinda expect stuff like epic fail, all your base are belong to us, etc.

Let's say that slap fight slaps though. We know what came next, it's all part of history.
Anyway, are there any Engrish titled games made nowadays in Japan? Would be interesting to know.
