Thanks a lot!
Can you add also the language pack ? audio: Polish subtitle: english?
Thanks!
GOG is coming back!
I can feel it in the air, the sea and the earth!

God yes!
So is Archolos a standalone game or do i need to have gothic 2 gold installed.
And does it need any of the system pack, player kit and gothic2_fix-2.6.0.0-rev2 or not.

Wolfram_von_Thal: I'm not even sure if it's indeed required to play. It installed and started without asking like a standalone. I do have GII installed however, but it never asked for the path or anything.
avatar
ssling: Seems like GOG's version of mod is standalone, hence the requirement of owning original G2.

avatar
Dogmaus: yeah, what happened to German and Russian?
avatar
ssling: Nothing happened, it never was. All text, voice acting and English translation is made from scratch by modders team. There is possibly Russian translation by Russian Gothic scene in work already.
I still thought this was a remaster when I wrote that. I was mixing this up with the Gthic 1 remake. Thanks for the info!

Completely standalone, just install and play

It's standalone only on GOG and Steam to be clear. No other patches or fixes required but you might add DX11 renderer for better graphics and possibly better performance on modern hardware. Also I heard some language pack is needed for Polish voice over with English subtitles but not sure.
I think this is the first mod I've ever seen in GOG. And I think it's cool and about time. However downside atm is, that offering possible mods for games lin "current style" will end up this mod and future ones easily drowning into sea of store items. It really looks like it's just another game among other games.

GOG seriously needs to setup own, distinct mod-area for games, something like Steam workshop, but hopefully not so walled garden like Steam has.

That's the strange and confusing thing. The store page lists that you need Gothic 2 Gold Edition (which I already own) to play this game and yet it's a standalone game in the game library. I hope someone from GOG can clarify this.

I guess you answered my question also, thanks. Though GOG needs to update the store page if that's the case, it's very misleading.

Somehow I missed your reply, thanks for the additional info. Currently playing Two Worlds EE so I probably didn't need to worry about it right now anyway lol.

Very, very pleased and truly impressed with the result of those 4-5 years of development so far.
After yesterday's 2 and today's 1 and a half hour I only noticed a couple slight issues in the audio department (pauses after spoken dialogue lines being a little too long sometimes, some dialogue line recordings having noticeable "white noise" in the background), but apart from that it's been nothing but smooth sailing and just a great nostalgic experience all around.

Setting up the Polish audio - English subtitles combo (in case you need to) is still a bit impractical but nothing you couldn't manage, even with just the most minimal of tech-savvyness:
1) Install the Polish version of the total conversion (corresponding offline installers have "_(polish)_" in their filenames)
2) Make copies of the six files named "KM_Speech1PL.mod", "KM_Speech2PL.mod", "KM_Speech3PL.mod", "KM_Speech4PL.mod", "KM_Speech5PL.mod" & "KM_Speech6PL.mod" (located under \The Chronicles Of Myrtana Archolos\Data), and move them to somewhere separate
3) Uninstall the Polish version of the total conversion
4) Install the default English-subtitled version of the total conversion
5) Move the copies of the six files named "KM_Speech[1-6]PL.mod" to the \The Chronicles Of Myrtana Archolos\Data location
6) (Optional?) Replace the "PL" part in "KM_Speech1PL.mod", "KM_Speech2PL.mod", "KM_Speech3PL.mod", "KM_Speech4PL.mod", "KM_Speech5PL.mod" & "KM_Speech6PL.mod" with "EN" (not 100% sure if that's really necessary but I did it anyway)

Would love to see GOG expand in regards to offering more mods and total conversions, not just for Gothic (Gothic Reloaded Mod) or Gothic 2 (History of Khorinis, Legend of Ahssûn) but in general, like they already did in the past with Deus Ex: Revision or Wesp's unofficial patch/mod for Vampire Bloodlines: The Masquerade.
Gothic 2 about to overtake Cyberpunk 2077 for the pool position on the currently bestselling list is definitely a sight to behold.

gog2002x: That's good to know. When I claimed it, there seemed to be a Gothic II DLC added, though there's nothing in the game library that I can see.
.
Wonder why they made it seperate in the game library if Gothic 2 was required to play it. That's a strange move or maybe I'm just missing something.
.
That was my question as well. When I saw two titles appear I thought something was added to Gothic 2 as well but that doesn't appear to be the case. Unless this is a bug because Gothic 2 is required to get it. It's really strange to add this on its own. I would rather have it as an extra seeing I'm going to forget what game this is for.

But still you are required to own Gothic 2 to claim Archolos?

Might be just one of those redundant 5-6MB placeholder/flag files you often see listed under "DLC installers" in the library (for completely stand-alone items like the soundtrack or artbook) that seem to be nonetheless necessary for ensuring logical consistency(?) in regards to whether you actually have bought and are eligible to have access to those extras/upgrades and whatnot.
The difference in this here case being that the "added DLC" placeholder/flag is not visible.

You are, yes.
It won't let you checkout otherwise.
