ALH: What is also unfortunate about this dilemma is that, due to many supporting the Steam sale, GOG is also going to pay for it so to speak because the future sales of Cinemaware releases here are obviously going to suffer tremendously.

mangamuscle: The only action Cinemaware can take is offer the same pack at the same price here on gog, since they have already signed a contract there is no chance in hell that the price ofc the pack in steam will change (it might be removed, but we know that will not happen).
Sure an equal bundle sale here would the fair response for GOG customers(although that doesn't cover those that have already bought the 3 releases so far) but obviously Cinemaware nor GOG had never planned this.As written above, with the Steam sale, Cinemaware is not going to see all that much profit.

It seems like a deliberate move from Steam to throw out that Cinemaware bundle for next to nothing in order to draw away some of GOGs customers and further infringe upon the classic games territory to damage GOG.

will be getting the bundle on steam later , still i wonder where they will make more sales we will find out at the end of upcoming year end sales i guess

The sensible solution to keep the profits coming is to also offer separately DotC CDTV, DotC II (CD32), Robin Hood: DotC (PC). DotC: DRE (PC), there is no use crying over spilled milk. Besides, many of these titles were offered for free for years at cinemaware's website, there is a limit at how much you can milk those titles.

Steam doesn't set prices for third party games, they only suggest them. This was most likely Kalypso's doing, possibly a miscommunication between Cinemaware and Kalypso on how they preferred to sell their 'collection'.

Besides what Pheace said, I don't think GOG wants to be known only for classic games anymore, anyway.

That is true.Though the Cinemaware/GOG combination is a collaboration that makes perfect sense and all of the future GOG Cinemaware sales have been greatly diminished now.

Somehow this Steam incident doesn't seem coincidental to me.But i may be wrong of course, just speculating.

I don't think GOG wants people to think they have to pay through the nose to get DRM free games that are cheaper on Steam either.

Cinemaware is also listed as the publisher for Wings Remastered on Steam. GOG's and GamersGate's entries disagree, though.

They probably won't do that though. Just skimming over this thread, I'm appalled by the amount of people here who are REWARDING their shitty behaviour. "Well, they sure fucked us GOG customers in the ass royally! What are we gonna do about it? Oh, I know: Give them even more money by buying their shit on Steam! That'll teach'em!"

Thanks for the info, but as far as I know, Kalypso games on retail don't require a Steam key, but activation through their launcher. Even the newly-released Tropico 5 doesn't require Steam (Look at Customer Questions & Answers).
