EDIT: After a quick glance at the reviews it seems that its a terrible slap-on port. Touch screen interface and all. Tragic, but to be expected from Square.

Obviously I want Gog/CDPR to make a port of the original, that would be worth buying :)

Both GoG and Steam's versions of Imperium Galactica II are as well too.

I still don't understand why Square-Enix chooses to re-release all of their old SNES titles using those awful "high quality" filters. I wish they would just stick to the original graphics for once. I'm sure most people would prefer pixel look to that blurry mess they constantly use these days.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing the Final Fantasy series on GOG. I really dig the updated features in FFVII and FFIX. Really improves the flow of the game and streamlines the battle system.

All of thier SNES era games on PC are ports of the mobile versions. FFIV, V, and VI as well as Secret of Mana and CT.
For that matter FFIX is a mobile port too.

It never ceases to amaze me how disrespectful Square-Enix can be toward Squaresoft's classics.

Does the Steam version have always-on DRM? The mobile version did the last time I checked its reviews.

Actually, funny enough, that one is one of the few that ISN'T a mobile port, despite looking like it.

Hmm, I had no idea that the Steam version for FFIX is a mobile port. All things considered, I think the clearer models and "game boosters" really helped improve it without hampering the overall experience for me.

And no shortage of shills doing 'damage control'. -_-U Doubtful since it started out on a console rather than DOS or Windows on the PC.

If you can't find a copy of the SNES original or the DS version, emulation might be the way to go. I'll let the fans sing their praises for the original title since this isn't the first time a good game got a poor port/localization. -_-

Perhaps, with the tools available (ie RPG Maker, Clickteam Fusion, etc.), we'll be able to show the Triple-As how it can be done.
