Trying to run Creatures 2 on a brand new Chromebook. I keep getting this message up is there anything I can do?

setup_creatures_2.1.0.16. exe

Not being funny but I doubt the Chrome store has Creatures anywhere in it. Any help would be wonderful or I will have to return this game.
Creatures 2 is listed as working on Windows only. Chrome OS is a completely different operating system and won't be compatible with windows games.

You might be able to run it using some of the techniques used by Linux gamers but I don't know if they will work on Chrome OS or not (or with Creatures 2 at all), but you'd need someone who knows more about that kind of thing...

Unfortunately you probably won't be able to get a refund either unless Gog are feeling particularly generous as not meeting the system requirements is not a valid reason for a refund...
Chromebooks are for running chrome browser and google software. It's basically a laptop for browsing.

Frankly, If I were you, I'd return the Chromebook instead and get a cheap Windows laptop for playing Creatures 2, as well as various other GOG games.

I'm somewhat interested to hear though is it possible to play any Windows/GOG games on Chromebook, e.g. does it have anything similar like Wine? Yeah I guess it has some sort of DOSBox maybe, but how about low-end Windows games?

Looks like may be able to play Windows games on Intel-based Chromebooks by running Wine in Ubuntu beside Chrome OS.

I like your recommendation better though.

Your best bet is to install a lightweight linux distribution.
I recommend Lubuntu.
After that just install wine on Lubuntu and you can run pretty much all windows software.

(Search for tutorials on how to install lubuntu & wine)
Actually, to counter bram1253, I wouldn't install anything that has Canoletical's stench directly on it. That's why I'm using Linux Mint, instead.

I use Linux Mint too but its not lightweight.
There are quite a few lightweight distros but not a lot are as user friendly as lubuntu.

ChromeOS is a lightweight Linux derivative (sort of, don't want to get too technical), it will never run software made for Windows without significant help from extra software like Wine (a Windows compatibility layer for Linux) and I'm not even sure that will work. If that Chromebook uses an Arm processor, it will pretty much never run any Windows games.

You realize Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu, right? Its got a nice, non-Canonical interface, but underneath, its still Ubuntu.

I do realize, but it doesn't have the parts that makes it Ubuntu, such as the Amazon ads, the obnoxious in your face interface that tells you to bite it's shiny metal ass, or the snide undertones.

Besides, I could be using the Debian based Linux Mint.

Ubuntu doesn't really have the Amazon crap anymore, though the interface is still obnoxious. I do think you are underestimating how much Ubuntu is left in Mint (not the LMDE version, of course). Mint really isn't much more than a reskin with Ubuntu 16.04 as its core.

An OS has ads?

Kleetus: An OS has ads?
The search function in Ubuntu used to pull results from the file system, the internet and "targeted shopping" results from Amazon. It still can, but it isn't enabled by default anymore.

that is not a trivial thing to do though
especially not for a computer novice
you have to basically sideload the OS because chromebooks are locked down

and some chromebooks dont even allow to be sideloaded
the op would be better off by getting a cheap laptop like the hp stream or something

Not anymore, now its based off Debian like Ubuntu.

I'm pretty sure those are removed already.
