After one year of radio silence, industry legend Chris Avellone (Planetescape Tournament, Knights of the Old Republic II) apparently found his balls in a dumpster and is now challenging the outrageous accusations levelled against him that led to him getting immediately dropped by numerous projects (Dying Light 2, Vampire: The Masquerade® - Bloodlines™ 2, The Waylanders).

Looks like this will be going to court. I sincerely hope the companies that didn't hesitate a second to drop him from their projects get sued for damages as well.

according to it he spent some days with 2 female gamers in 2012-14 and one of them accused him of sort of rape in 2020
and looks like companies just fired him due to this, sounds like fake made up stuff

hope he will win and take $ millions of those companies
they should have no right to fire anybody for accusations

I understood nothing from that spineless wishywashy response other than that he didn't do it. No mention of a suit against the accuser or the companies that kicked him. He's given the media too much to take out of context and all this will end in is everyone being worse off.

Pay attention to those you hang out with (or intend to). Many people (if not all) have issues, to different degrees - some more, some less.

From everything i have seen and read including the people who dropped accusations against him, he seems to be innocent of the crimes he's accused of so it's a real shame he decides to go to court this long after but atleast he does it now because false accusations cannot become a trend more than it already is, it simply sets a bad precedent.

Also fuck opportunists who make up crimes just to cancel people they don't like for one reason or another and the same go for developers, personal feelings should not dictate whether to cancel one or not.

It's good that Owlcat kept him on their project to finish the work he was tasked with for Pathfinder: WoTR and that he wasn't fired simply because accusations that wasn't even proven to be true.
