Seeing as it wasn't addressed there, I have a question: Will there be a ball pit?

To GOG/CDPR: So no ball pit then? :|
(sidenote: I truly hope my comment didn't curse the thread :))

That would be the ultimate switcheroo, I think.....people get to WitcherCon and a curtain drops to reveal: it was 2077Con all along!

Ok, so I watched the first few minutes...

... and...

... quickly learned this wasn't for me

I saw a video the other day talking about things that indicate a game is likely to be shit. One of the big ones was hiring a big name "star".

That's not always the case...sometimes said games/etc are decent enough.

That said, I think that applies to many companies, and not just gaming ones....hiring big name stars to advertise/sell something(or just hot women/men in general).

Looks like it's not that popular. People are still po'd about that last pile of crap disguised as a video game.
Gotta say...

... CDPR's "making of" video(s) for The Witcher 3 from a few years back was pretty good.

But...

... this Netflix Con thing felt strange...

In the first few minutes it became clear that I wasn't the audience... and made me question if the 2nd season of the series will be for me (or not)?

I've rarely tuned into a show meant to drum up interest for something an "walk away" less interested (unless it's a Sony State of Play).

I've no illusions about it at all. It was never for me. It was always their plan to make into a generic, bland show easily digested by a mass audience. They already butchered a lot of what was, for me, the best parts of the books and ripped the heart and soul of it in a way I don't think is possible to recover. And other than Cavill who surprised me in a very positive way, I mostly hate the casting. If it wasn't a "Witcher" show I'd probably be ok with as a sort of mindless fun for a couple of evenings (there not being much competition in terms of fantasy shows out there). As is - I can't stand it.

Happens to me all the time.

Well, ok, not exactly true - I rarely watch that kind of stuff at all. But whenever I do, I pretty much always get bored quickly.

And honestly, from the get-go this "WitcherCon" thing felt kinda weak to me. Feels very forced and artificial and there pretty much nothing on the schedule really worth making a whole event around.

If they have a ball pit, though, I might become slightly more interested....I mean who doesn't like ball pits ;D

Well, IMO there is enough material to make a few presentations over a couple of days, but...

... it started off with IMO a very off-putting segment / panel.

I agree -- for the most part -- about the show... and this panel made me feel the first season will probably be as good as it's going to get with all involved.

Yeah, but what would have been ok if it were just a bunch of shorter videos they'd upload to their respective YT channels is rather disappointing when you hype it up and call it a "WitcherCon". I could make a "WitcherCon" exactly like it in give or take an hour if I'd just edit together a few previous interviews for the tv show and presentations of the new board and mobile games.

Even the giveaway is lame. Ooh, 4 Gwent cards, an old concert video they already gave away and two e-books I don't even get to own. Hold the press!
