Better get ready, because we have two great releases from Whale Rock Games, both in special launch discounts! The Wraith of the Galaxy and PolyClassic: Wild are now available on GOG!

The Wraith of the Galaxy (-30%)

In this stunning third-person space combat game, you’ll learn that aliens have taken over outer space in order to conduct experiments on entire planets; equipped in a spaceship with several types of weapons, your quest will be to destroy the mutants, asteroids, and explore new planets. On your journey, you’ll stumble upon various enemies, various weapons to choose from, but also colorful and stunning space views, with spaceship controls resembling a flight simulator – all accompanied by a mesmerizing soundtrack.

Note: This game is currently in development. See the FAQ to learn more about games in development, and check out the forums to find more information and to stay in touch with the community.

PolyClassic: Wild (-75%)

The name of this game says it all – it’s a fun, classic retro shooter in stylized low poly graphics, taking place in a Wild West setting. Your quest, as a cowboy, will be to destroy all enemies that come across on the way, in an arena-like combat environment. You’ll have different types of games at your disposal, ranging from pistols, through shotguns, double-barreled guns, miniguns, all the way to hammers and laser cannons. Each level provides a certain type of weapon, with a variety of enemies with different combat styles.

Both offers end on March 31, 2 PM UTC. Don’t wait, check them out now!
So I watched the trailer and to be honest I'm very disappointed

The Cowboy game is weirdly low poly, and the weapons look like they taken directly from a library and dumped into the game without considering the time setting. Also it looks like Serious Sam rip off.

The space game is just plain dumb. The setting is always around some asteroid belt. It always sound the same no matter what you destroy and for something set in far future why the plane don't have freely aiming turret and the player have to move the entire ship just to aim. What kind of dystopian star wars aiming bullshit is this?

Swedrami: They may not be the most sophisticated games you can get an awful lot out of but it presents an opportunity to support the Ukrainian games industry in these trying times, at least.

Wouldn't mind more of these opportunities to come up.
Look, I'm fine with supporting a country or something. But it doesn't mean we have to accept junk as well. I also love it when games from my country got featured and sold in GOG but they actually make the game interesting and fun to play. This just undermine the whole Ukrainian gaming industry if they think they can just sell shit and people willing to buy and eat shit.

pbaggers: Remember when this was a site dedicated to making preserving classic PC games and making them purchasable again? And now (this isn't GOG's fault, this is entirely Epic) we have PC gaming historical landmarks like Unreal Tournament getting yanked away from sale.
And the worst part, for a develoiper who called themselves polyclassic but their games made in 2021.
I know social media distorted our perspective on time, but this is just ridiculous lol

Funreaver: Yes, several of the 5 star reviews have only reviewed their own 6 games.
Its so obvious and for me either customer deception or fraud and the developer putting out tons of games in early access is super shady, too. Finish what you start or at least commit to a project. I dont see them finish some of their titles...

I wish there was an ignore button so I dont have to see these games all the time with their constant 80+% sales at the top of the sales pages.
What make me sad is that I bet there's a lot more decent Ukrainian developers out there making better games than this but never get the chance to sell their games.

I'll take the opportunity to remind everyone that GOG has a long history of incomprehensible game rejections, the most notable being Magnum Opus from renowned publisher Zachtronics, which was only reversed after the community outcry grew too loud. All while at the same time games like this are let into the store.

GOG's About page states they're "[h]and-picking the best in gaming". The curation in its current form clearly doesn't reflect that and needs to go.

For me The Wraith of the Galaxy seems like their other game, Hell Division, just with a new skin. :(

However, to be honest, the new skine definitely looks better, than the old one.

These guys are sketchy as anything.

Many fake reviews here and on Steam.

Many complaints about asset flip low quality games. So basically 5 star, 1 star, 5 star, 1 star reviews...

All their games were released in a short amount of time.

They have no website. No physical address that I can find online.

The website that is listed on some other sites ( http://deployment-game.com/ ) doesn't exist.

These games shouldn't be here. Who let them on and why?

Well, they needed something to release while turning down actual games from actual developers. Instead they put these on here, whose developer churns out title after title of unfinished indev crap that they never see through. GOG has no real curation.
