It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

JudasIscariot: Then I recommend you and phaolo send a ticket to Support with as much info as necessary so we can take a look at this problem :)
Surprisingly, it just started working again when I went to check this reply. :)
Finally!
Does not work for me anymore, neither on Cyberfox nor through Galaxy. Refreshing /[url=https://www.gog.com/account/refresh]account makes no difference.
woo-hoo! ; )
Nope refresh doesn't cut it :( I still can't access the contextual menu when hovering to the avatar of someone on the forum, no chats, no adding friends, no viewing wishlists for me :(

Same here, hovering over the avatar of someone brings up nothing. Windows 7 64 bit using Chrome.

It was working yesterday when I saw this thread but as with most people here, now I can't see anything hovering on the avatars of other users. Using latest version of Firefox on Win 7 x64.
Same here, no "hover-over" pop-up when I mouse over user avatars. I only noticed it yesterday after visiting this thread. Good thing I hardly ever use Chat. ; )

EDIT: I'm on Windows 8.1 using up-to-date Firefox, in case it matters.

To work around this issue, type the address manually in the following format to initiate the chat:

www.gog.com/u/<username>/chat

where <username> is to be substituted with, well, member's name, case-insensitive,

Also applicable to wishlist if available, just change chat to wishlist in the line above.

Worked for my immediate need, thanks!
i have the same bug, panic!
Now I'm having problems too. When I put the arrow above someone's avatar, it doesn't do anything anymore .
Here is a response from GOG support:

"Hello,
I am afraid that I was unable to reproduce your problem.
Please try clearing your browser's cache and cookie files, and let me know if the problem persists. After the cache is cleared, I strongly suggest performing a full reload of the site (Ctrl-R), then logging out and back in.
It is also possible that some plugin or add-on is interfering, so please try a different browser to see if the problem persists.
Please also check if your antivirus or firewall software is not interfering - ideally by adding gog.com to its whitelist/trusted list.
Best regards,

Lol, well drop the ball with the support (for cases which involve the website / forum : most of the time you will have the same generic answer)

It's broken , see there :
