Hello GOG, can you please also provide a de-coupled version of CHASM: The Rift, so we can buy either version independently. A bit like the Blade Runner arrangement.

I cannot see the point of selling both versions as one purchase, because surely if the new version is so much better you would never want to play the original. Whereas, we could buy the original version now for a much fairer price, play it, and then later, if desired, update to the newer version when that has dropped to a more reasonable price.
That is of course, how it should optimally be. Powerslave would be a good example of that.

But it depends entirely on the dev/publisher. Some keep them separate, some bundle them together. I am pretty sure GOG can do nothing about it.

GOG would have almost as much interest in making a sale as the dev/pub, and for sure there are many folk here, myself included, who simply aren't buying at the current price, even at 25% discounted. So GOG could certainly have talks with them and encourage splitting the versions up. Better to make more money rather than less, and it could be written off as promotion for the revamped version, eventually. GOG could certainly be more persuasive than you or I etc. Complaints to GOG, as I recall it, got Blade Runner versions separated.

I'd happily settle for the original version now, on its own, until the price of the revamped version is viable for me. If the revamped version is as good as they say it is, then for the life of me I cannot see the point of paying anything for the added original version, which would never get played. So bonus it really isn't, and should not impact price as it currently appears to, where there is a pretense we would be getting two games, two games we would play, whereas in reality it would be just one we played ... either revamped or just the original if revamped doesn't live up to claims. It might be different if the versions were different enough with content, but I don't believe that is the case.
