I would say Ultima: Quest of the Avatar on the NES had such an effect on me. (This is the NES remake of Ultima 4; it's very different from other versions, but the virtues are the same.)
I could also mention Secret of Mana, which led to an appreciation of nature and plant life.
Incidentally, there's a game I've watched on Twitch called Secret Little Haven; it's about a trans girl finding out about herself on the early days of the Internet. I suspect that game might change one's views about that particular topic. It is probably a good idea to heed the content warnings, however. (I haven't bought or played that game, but I think I will at some point.)
