Breath of Fire 2 taught me to always level up all characters in jRPGs because you never know when your monkey will have to beat another monkey in one-on-one combat.

Honestly, I think years of playing games (particularly story-heavy ones) makes it easier to put one's self in other people's shoes and view things from different angles, but if that's the case, it's probably a bunch of very small shifts rather than being the result of any single game.

Outlook's pretty good for the enterprise features, if you work in an office. Of course the company becomes dependent on it very quickly.

I would say Ultima: Quest of the Avatar on the NES had such an effect on me. (This is the NES remake of Ultima 4; it's very different from other versions, but the virtues are the same.)

I could also mention Secret of Mana, which led to an appreciation of nature and plant life.

Incidentally, there's a game I've watched on Twitch called Secret Little Haven; it's about a trans girl finding out about herself on the early days of the Internet. I suspect that game might change one's views about that particular topic. It is probably a good idea to heed the content warnings, however. (I haven't bought or played that game, but I think I will at some point.)

Hmm, a person who's both seemingly trustworthy and hiding behind a mask of treachery... The trustworthy traitor, a person you trust to betray? But what if they betray that trust and stay loyal?

Yeah. Nethack introduced me to the concepts behind both permadeath and roguelikes. I came to see the game as the closest metaphor to life than previously seen in computer games. It was perhaps even an introduction to Buddhism for me, in a round about way.

Finding Paradise changed the way I see my past and my future and the way I look at disappointments, and it actually helped me overcoming a terrible part of my life
