Depends on iOi and their willingness to put together a version that's actually DRM-free (for the most part resp. where it matters) this time around.

Because they seem to think all those online features are relevant for their games.
Even when Blood Money got a offline system for unlocking equipment.

why won't IOI release, or let GOG release, a DRM-free version of Hitman GOTY? I don't remember exactly how the fix would work but iirc it'd require allowing all the starting locations and weapons to be unlocked from the start - do you think IOI thinks this would "ruin the fun/challenge", or is it more likely IOI just wants DRM and GOG's execs were desperate for money? (I haven't played the game myself.)

Would love to add Hitman Trilogy to my library, but...they REALLY love their DRM and tracking mechanisms. I am almost certain that NuHitman would be a top-notch stealth experience.

I doubt it, Hitman games sold millions of copies even with that awful DRM, and when it came to GOG they removed due to users backlash. I don't think IOI will bother to bring other Hitman game here, but I still would love to see Kane & Lynch games.

Square Enix has been pretty good to us "recently" (Tomb Raiders, Just Cause 1-2), I think the Kane and Lynchs have a pretty good chance of showing up unless SE goes dark here for another half-decade or technical issues aren't solved. ("Notice: Square Enix has temporarily removed this title from sale to work on some important updates. Please check back soon!")

The method is called "use an existing save that has already unlocked everything". Hardly a fix, much less a professional one.


Until iO changes their unlocking system, I don't foresee any part of the trilogy releasing here (unless GOG pulls a fast one again).

I think there's a possibility with the release of the new trilogy set that the games will end up here... at least the base story components / levels.

The trailer does say it's coming to gamepass... which is about as "free" as it gets on console.

But again I wouldn't expect anything until the trilogy has been out awhile.

i feel, having all the weapons only adds to the fun -_-

didnt gog mention that they were working with IOI to resolve the issue?... jee, i wonder what happened to that -_-

Today IO Interactive announced that HITMAN 3 will be retitled as "HITMAN: World of Assassination" and will be automatically bundled with all of the content from the two other reboots. So it looks like it's going to be a "complete edition" of the entire reboot trilogy packaged in a single release. (Which is what I have been saying that IOI should do all along.)

Any chance of a truly DRM-free release of this new World of Assassination package on GOG now?

Depending on how far back this has been planned it would explain why Hitman never returned after being pulled, if they are still planning on bringing Hitman here this package is probably the easiest to due DRM-free compared to releasing the games separately and finding a way to allow the games to talk to each other without using Galaxy.
