As we step into the month of June, we wanted to take a moment to acknowledge and celebrate something very important: Pride Month.

Pride Month serves as a reminder of the progress we have made towards creating a more equitable and inclusive society, as well as the work that still lies ahead. It’s an opportunity for us to reflect on the importance of celebrating and embracing the diverse identities and experiences that enrich our lives with different perspectives. At GOG, we firmly believe that diversity and inclusion are not just buzzwords, but fundamental principles that drive innovation, foster collaboration, and enable us to simply grow as people, as well.

To celebrate Pride Month, our queer team members selected the variety of games containing LGBTQAI+ themes and characters, all available on GOG. Inclusive environments and diverse characters create a safe space to have fun and express yourself for all kinds of gamers!

This time, we decided to choose a slightly different approach, to make browsing LGBTQAI+ games much easier; instead of just one collection, we created a whole page and divided it into categories.

Among such, we’ve created a list of games containing masculine romance representation – we’ve gathered all the games we could think of that include romance representation between male characters. Whether it’s Kerry Eurodyne in Cyberpunk 2077, Kim Kitsuragi in Disco Elysium, or Nailsmith in Hollow Knight, we tried our best to get them all! If you have any other recommendations that slipped our attention though, feel free to share them with us.

Another category you’ll notice is, of course, a set of games containing female romance representation. Through the emotional story of Unpacking, walking alongside protagonists of Life is Strange, getting to know Undyne in Undertale, and even more – we’re sure they’ll all steal your hearts!

In Choose-Your-Gender category, we’ve gathered games that allow you to play around and choose your gender representation in the virtual world freely. It’s a great way to explore your own identity, as well as try to put yourself in other people’s shoes – all while being in the safety of your own game, NPCs, without an ounce of worry about judgement.

Last but not least, we’re proud to present a list of games featuring transgender characters. Representation of trans people in video games is just as important as in any other media – and we couldn’t be happier to see the number of them slowly growing. Meet Claire ( Cyberpunk 2077), Sam ( Normal Lost Phone), Jackie ( Night in the Woods), and many more!

Let’s celebrate Pride Month – and together, make love last forever!

Boki983: So when is the day of straight people? When do we get to celebrate?
Sick of being fed these beliefs of others and being forced to accept something that is not acceptable to me. Do i walk with a shirt, ¨straight and proud of it¨ around and force my beliefs on everyone? NO! So keep your beliefs to yourself and do what you want, but just stop feeding others with your pronouns and other nonsense.
You have to learn to accept people as the way they are .

I feel so tired: So this thing will die out like the Love Parade?
Love parade only was cancelled after about a dozen people attending it were trampled to death in a mass panic. I don't think something like that will happen with Pride month (I certainly don't expect any fatalities on Gog).
I'm so old i remember when people didn't qualify themselves by their sexual appetite.

Good days. We had a private life. We enjoyed something called intimacy. We had free speech too.
Some of ya fella may remember.

Man, am I this old, or... is the world surrounded by weak men and companies are trying to capitalize on it?

And gog, if you don't like politics, don't get into politics.

You can't ban or silence people because they are responding to YOUR call. And this is one. One hell of a divisive one.

This is not a commercial decision. This sale is purely pandering to some political views. That is sad. I'm buying a LOT of stuff from you, because I like the stuff and want to see you work forever, expand and everything but getting into the woke stuff makes me realize you're probably answering to the same kind of board that wants to rule the world, like blackrock and shit.
(Don't know blackrock my friends? Here : https://rumble.com/v2s4ev0-blackrock-ceo-fink-you-have-to-force-behaviors-in-companies-on-gender-and-r.html )

I had hope, i had esperance, i had LOVE for you but every time i see promoted content for political and in the same time heavy censoring of your own market, I have the impression you're trying to budlight yourself. Don't get involve into politics, let games talk about it if they want but don't divide your audience/buyers.

I love everyone, as soon as they're not doing any harm. But pushing this thing is literally sterilizing people at a massive scale. Having a respectful discussion about it is the way. Not killing any divergent point of view from the matrix.

Have a nice day.

Love

morolf: In Germany Pride month has been abolished for lack of interest. It's now called Stolzmonat and all of June is one long occasion for patriotic (or one could say nationalistic) celebrations. The trend has already spread to other European countries. So maybe this is the last Pride month celebration ever on Gog.

It's back actually, since last year, now going by Rave The Planet but essentially the same event.
high rated

No its not called that

Stolzmonat is a publicity stunt by the Right wing Alternative for Germany party that went viral for a short time then fizzled away

The actual Pride month, which appears to be CSD Pride is still in good health

What you mean is you remember when Gay people had to hide away, when they couldn't hold hands in public or kiss good bye on a train, when they couldn't marry or see a loved one in hospital, back when you could pretend they didn't exist.

You are trying to turn LGBT+ people into a purely sexual act, rather than love for another person. By framing it as sexual, you can legislate against them, control them, say their relationships are unfit to be seen by children.

It seems to me that this thread heavily censored and doesn't seem to reflect the values or opinions of the average user.

Thankfully telling people that is not against the forums rules.

I think given the huge number of companies that don't go broke, but rather increase profits, for flying the pride flag I feel you may be wrong.

But feel free to prove me otherwise by taking your business elsewhere

I never had to hide. My friends never hide. I'm half a century old. There never was witch hunt like you said. Except in horrible countries when woman and people not-doing-what-the-"norm"-or-"religious"-diktat-agrees-on, live. And those horrible countries are stillhunting people like that, but selling games, or nay stuff here will never change their life.
I'm not trying to legislate because of their tastes, I'm definitely not the one to judge people for what they should be doing it in private, love between individuals is sacred, and it's not a thing you have to talk everywhere, all the time. I love when people don't talk about their sex life. I never talked about my sex life and all the experiences I had. It is my treasure, that I share with my loved ones.

It's just one banner for a sale. GOG has so many for all sorts of reason it's not a big deal. There is a big difference between tolerating something and celebrating something. If you celebrate something that can be implied you support it and that can get you in hot water with others. That being said, I understand some people may be attracted to the same sex and should be allowed to demonstrate their love like hugging and kissing like any other couple do without shame. It goes against my religion; but they have a right to happiness as long as it doesn't affect me or break laws. To me the sale doesn't quite qualify as major support. It's just a way for GOG to let those customers know that they have games with that as a major theme. If your not intrested don't buy it.
Good for you GOG! <3

Especially in these times when the community is under attack in so many places and their rights are being infringed upon, it's important to signal support without fear of repercussion (or despite of it).

I've heard on many occasions that a simple gesture of acceptance and support means a lot.

Coming from the most homophobic country in the EU of 2021, according to EU research, I'm sure this has even more significance for you. I've heard things are getting better though :)

DemonKiller49: do folks realize that pride is a negative human characteristic often derided in most cultures?
Hate >>> Pride as a negative human characteristic, though. That is, if you even agree with the notion that Pride month has anything to do with negative human characteristics. Which I don't.

kasasensei: And gog, if you don't like politics, don't get into politics.
It's not a political matter though. Is you liking women, a matter of politics? Are the only ones supporting queer rights, left-wing? Are there no queer people on the right? We know that's not true, so again, this is not politics. It's life. Politics is whimsical and transient - just some years ago the orange man supported the LGBTQ+ community - fast forward to 2023 and the hatred is horrific in not only across the pond, but in many places. The right of the queer community to be free from persecution and hate crimes is a constant though, despite some thinking it otherwise.

life is politics.
hate crime does not exist.
there is no persecution. (except in horribles countries like i said before and you should visit them if you don't know what the difference is between some critics and a real manhunt where people want you DEAD).

Some people are just not happy with some behaviors from some fringe minorities which is abusing the political push they have in some place. your twitter feed isn't real life.

Every day.

mechmouse: For those claiming "Politics"

Being LGBT is as political as being left handed or having brown eyes.

You don't choose to be gay or trans, they are just a part of who you are. You can't "make" anyone LGBT, just like you can't make them Straight. Having age appropriate LGBT content in schools (i.e. just saying Jenny has two dads and that fine) isn't indoctrination, no more than a visit to a synagogue or mosque. It gives kids the knowledge and language to understand themselves and other people. I grew up under section 28, I was in my 20's before I could even understand my identity, 30s before I could undo 20 years repressed thoughts.

What is political, is the repression and demonisation of those aspects, blocking peoples voices and experiences. And that repression that is back on the rise.

The current openness and by extension Pride, is about undoing centuries of forced repression and fighting its return.

People want to make it political as it validates their oppression.
If left-handed or brown eyes people demanded representation, censored free speech or demanded additional rights - they would become political. Politics are powers relations. Any group under any characteristic that fights for rights or power makes themselves political.

I don't see the point of celebrating straight or not people. Humans are so much more than that.
