I don't see any Spiderweb Software games on the list .
This is a good sale for the genre it represents. However, I sadly own everything except for the soundtracks which don't concern me. And the only "new" game is rather short and boring. Still bought it because I do love the rpg genre.

Well, maybe next week will show some "umph" in releases.
Kult heretic kingdoms for a buck is very tempting: https://www.gog.com/en/game/heretic_kingdoms_the_inquisition

Pd: in the quiz i am a ranger. Thx gog it was funny.

Same here. :D
Nice sale. Something will come off it.

Thanks for the quiz. Apparently I am a druid? :D

Also, I missed the change to the blog. Not bad! Although it would be nice to add comments there. But they can be added here, I guess: I would like to play again Icewind Dale. Still not set on a party. I was wondering if a druid was worth it, since on my first playthrough a heavier armor might have been useful, he got injured a lot.

Some party might be this:

Paladin (Cavalier)
Fighter (dwarven)
Ranger (long range and eventuallly moving to the front line)
Thief (for locks, traps, ranged weapons, front line as a last resort)
Mage
Priest (or druid, going hand to hand if the party becomes overwhelmed)

But then, a bard might be helpful for identifying found objects on the go.

Loved icewind dale when first it came out.

Good sale but as an rpg fan picked up a lot of these games but might see whats left.

Also i am a ranger. Funny i always play this class in all my games.
Apparently I am a Rogue. I expected to be a cleric or similar, but indeed in the last years I use to play more with characters more mobility, speed and light armor dependant.

Nice sale indeed. I own alot of them though.
How is Kingdoms of Amalur? I fear that it's going to feel like playing an MMO in single player. Is the story and gameplay decent?

Likewise.
They're great games too. All of them, I even like Nethergate despite Jeff trying to disown it.

IMO, your fear is justified. I thought the general gameplay was more than decent - the combat, the creatures, the character building were fun (in an ARPG way), graphics and sound are also pretty neat. But the story was so-so, not really moving forward much, and especially the quest design was rather underwhelming for the most part, plus there is just too much of everything; I lost sight of the main storyline due to all the sidequests, all with a lot of quest giver dialogue but then only repetitive tasks, running to and fro over the map, and re-used or same-y looking dungeons (if at all, many are just fetch or kill quests in the open world). See my post from the Games Quit in 2020 thread here.

Recently I played a bit of Mass Effect: Andromeda (which people say is similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition), and I felt reminded of my experience with Amalur. Initially I thought these games aren't as bad as everyone says, actually quite enjoyable (and I still think they can be fun), but after a while I always begin to wonder what's the point, everything begins to feel too similar to what I did before, like a waste of time, due to all the mundane (at best semi-interesting) conversations, lore dumping and quests leading to nothing really memorable or substantial.

Of course, YMMV.

Maybe I am a weirdo but Nethergate is my favourite. It IS the game he ought to remake and expand content wise badly. I love the old engine though

He already did (that's what Nethergate: Resurrection is), but then again, remaking his games more than once is not exactly unheard of....

Indeed. And it was already expanded and relatively polished but now its engine is the pretty outdated one, the black sheep :D, Blades of Avernum aside, of course.
