I am on the fence about this apology and acceptance of responsibility. It does come a bit late and not long after those "simply untrue" details.

I think it is fair to say those, like me, who have a loyalty to CDPR/GOG were left feeling really let down and a bit stupid for backing the game. The release of Cyberpunk 2077 was bad and showed a level of deception that I would normally expect from EA not CDPR. We all loved it when CDPR said "we leave greed to others" but the reality is they put profit ahead of releasing a game before it was ready. I'd say for PC it could do with another year of development and for consoles probably longer.

I can only play the game with acceptable performance if I use DLSS. I have a 3080, 8600k and 32GB RAM & SSDs. I shouldn't need to use AI assisted graphics technologies to get acceptable performance of a game.

I also think the developers of the game shouldn't get off too lightly either. The game has been in development for 8 years and from a layman's perspective the kind of bugs that have been happening seem rather basic, T posing NPCs for example.

I won't boycott CDPR or GOG as a result of this but I can promise them I will never pre-order a game from them again.

Orkhepaj: apology? only accept it when it is proven by actions

Vythonaut: At least they are decent enough to do a video like this. People seem to forget that awfully buggy games come and go, yet how many companies really care to fix them? How many care more about the next cash-grab, rather than supporting the game they've just released?

I've never took any stance on anything CP2077 related, because i don't have first-hand experience of it and i don't really have the energy or time to dedicate to something that doesn't really matter in the long run. I heard it's buggy, maybe unplayable for certain people, didn't meet expectations for others, but whatever the problems are and the reasons behind them, i'm sure the game will be fixed at some point just like it happened with the Witcher series.

If they cared enough to fix The Witcher back then (which i played at release, but only became one of my favourites after the Enhanced Edition was released), i trust they'll do it again with CP2077, especially if they consider it their magnum opus so far.
Yeah they cared then they thrown this cyberpukk out halfly done. Companies changes , so I believe them when I see their actions turning to better.

Anyway we should get a product quality testing for these games just like we have those for our other products.
If it doesn't work like this time, then they can't sell the product, or they have to pay back everybody and pull back the product from the market.

Im usually for free market ,but that needs products where the seller cant scam the buyer with false promises and marketing.

And so now? Will it bring us faster refunding and less complaining threads? :)

Typical corporate style BS apology full of excuses and dodges, delivered with the same energy and honesty of the South Park "We're Sorry" clip.

Too little too late CDPR, you're full of crap and we see through you now. You're never getting back that perception that you are above the likes of Bethesda.

Yeah probably :D
I wonder why they needed to take a month to make an apology.
Surely not they waited PR team to decide what to do now.
If they were really sorry they would have done it in a week after release.

And full of lies, hope those lawsuits will put a stop to this behavior.
Yes this reminded me of that SP episode too.
Btw who the hell brings up excuses when making an apology, that is not an apology.
Apology is when you know you did something wrong and don't search for excuses.

Must say, he sure looks haggard...

But I'm not hearing anything about the (albeit cosmetic) items requiring to connect before becoming available and going fully against the "No activation or online connection" statement...

I wonder why they needed to take a month to make an apology.
Some have suggested that it was because of AngryJoe's review video.

Whether it is a coincidence or not, it is still somewhat amusing that AngryJoe's video gets over 1 million views in 24 hours, and immediately after that there is this apology video.

Of course, there have been other videos and reviews before that so it's most likely just a coincidence, but you never know.

I mean the bugs and issues are doing a fair job of overlooking the actual problems with the game. Even fully patched etc etc you can't fix some of the core issues. I'm curious to see how opinions change on the game when everything is 'fixed' and the game is reviewed on its content. Which isn't that great in all honesty, just kinda decent!

The cars look lovely though!

like the 3 starting backgrounds only differ for like 20 mins ? that is so meh
I notice that many people is upset for this too, like the guys at least face the public and give an explanation, other companies not even bother in do this, some other said it too late and the game has been release one month ago and went through a shit storm. They are trying to do the best they can, CDPR become a big company too fast for it's own good, not too long ago they where almost an indie company, despite all the bugs the game is great, the story, the characters, great gameplay (even more if we take in count that is their first game with shooting mechanics) The Witcher 3 have several improvements after lunch, they redesign the inventory, graphics, and combat after release and I'm sure they will do the same with Cyberpunk. Now, I still blame Marcin for the decision of release the game, if they wait two more month the game would have any of this problem, but I still trust in the company and let's be honest is the best out there...
If people want them to do the right thing, there has to be a starting point right?

If people didn't forgive me for all the BS I put them through during my lifetime, I'd be one lonely fella lol.
