From our genes (XY and XX) and our prevailing hormone (Estrogen and Testosterone) and our genitals.

How you express yourself is not a gender.
You can be a total buff and aggressive female or a physically weak and peaceful male, while still being male and female.
Don't try to make every different configuration of neurons a "gender".
It's a fools errand, and serves only to divide people into easily outraged and offended mobs, causing strife.
The only ones who win are those already in power, or those seeking to further their ideological agenda by taking advantage of peoples distraction and unthinking, caused by their emotional state.

It definitely comes across as pandering and virtue signaling. I personally don't care, though. They can make their game into whatever they desire. If I lose interest due to their choices then I likely won't buy it. That's as deep and complex as this stuff gets for me.

Look up a man called Count Dankula and n*zi pug on the net(I promise you won't get in trouble....it's pretty tame and not illegal to look at such). The man made a silly vid for his friends where his dog did a h*tler salute for laughs and it spread and the UK police locked him up for a bit over it and also fined him iirc.

There are also so many other cases(people getting fines and such for calling others fat/old/etc online) that it is now a meme/cliche and some think some of the UK policing is a joke.

I have no idea. Probably you can pick a pronoun. In hungarian (my mothertongue) we don't have gender specific pronouns. Nor genders as a matter of fact (english doesn't has genders either, just the pronouns). Oh well, I let the SJW crowd figure that one out :P
Imho I just don't care. I often play females in games (especially 3rd person view ones like KOTOR) because I find it more pleasant to look at :D

I do that in many games that allow it as well....sometimes I walk them around in public(in game) in that or silly outfit combos for laughs.

Refering to the WHO defenition of gender: Gender is social, Sex is biological

Therefore gender is not based on a fixed amount of variations but on the society or even individual expression.
Its a social or individual construct.

There is an ongoing dispute about how to hande the cases where the biolocial sex of some individuals varies from the usual male, female distinction, but this is not social but a purly medical question.

like clockwork,quite ironic these sorts of people are the most offended overall, just play pretend whatever sex you want if that makes you feel better.

Also, gender and sex is are not the same things,generally sex is the biological makeup while gender is the perceived social identity, this might be hard though if you get your political and social education through your YouTube recommended and its subscription feed.

Also, i say generally because i am not a postmodernist on this issue, i don't feel that i have to, im not a believer in a postgender society.

As to the first bit: I'd like to tell those who get offended by stuff in games to pretend it doesn't exist or to plahy something else but they'd get offended by that as well.

To me the OP is getting overly upset, but I if I had to guess: It's not the extra options but WHY companies add them(not usually to be nice to such people but to make more money and pander to such people as if they were all children or dumb).

If people truly are taken issue with it, just don't buy it. There's no real need to stick a flag in the ground and say 'these are the reasons I will not be purchasing this product put out by a multimillion-dollar company''

It's fine to not buy something, or indeed buy something, but it doesn't require a fanatical bloodletting.

Cyberpunk, by essence, is about transcending what it is to be human (from the stuff i've read/watched/played in the genre anyway) i don't really see much of an issue with any of this. If you do, just use it as an excuse to reply Dues Ex, silver linings and all that.
