GameRager: It is, you just used the wrong words to describe what the OP was saying/doing.

Also as for what most would assume...do you mean assume OP was trying to say such people shouldn't exist? If so I don't assume such without proof. OP only said he thinks such people are "lesser", not that he doesn't want them to exist. As such, I give him the benefit of the doubt as I cannot prove such things about them.

babark: You're going on about 'wanting to exist' again :D. What is your first language, maybe I can find a way to communicate my point better to you. As for now, perhaps this example would help:

'There are GamePagers and FameRagers, there's no such thing as a GameRager
Is it a real thing? I thought that GameRager was just a nickname that one GOG user made up. I never thought that this user is ACTUAL GameRager. What is GameRager, btw?

GameRager: You and others seem to not be getting why this upsets some people...it's not the inclusion of such and more choice....it's WHY they usually add such(to sell copies to those in said groups and their supporters).
You're trying to rationalize an irrational argument.

I'm interested in what governing body decides what changes are acceptable and what aren't?

You're talking about minors in response regarding Cyberpunk? It's not CDPR's responsibility to be a parent... it's teh parents' responsibility.

Which argument is irrational? The random extra stuff OP added that didn't pertain to the game or the dev's addition to the game being bad because of pandering?

Also you can call it justification or rationalization(which kinda paints such as being bad somehow), but it is still a valid stance for some.

No one.....except maybe the law and what's currently illegal.

As for minors: I was talking in general(and also to prove a point that we limit their exposure by law to such for a reason) and not about this game specifically.

GameRager:
You don't see it?

You want some kind of empirical justification for change...

... yet...

You validate arguments based on no empirical evidence

It would seem you are playing this game with just as much of an agenda as you claim to rail against.

What did I not see? I ask seriously as I mainly post without analyzing every single word I write(way too many to do so efficiently/quickly) before posting, though I try to be as clear and accurate as I can.

===================
As for my point: I wasn't trying to validate his argument(as posted in the OP), but rather the one some(including myself) have concerning companies pandering to marginalized groups to make a buck.....which I believe OP MIGHT also hold as a stance & might be part of what prompted his spiel in the first place.

Again there you go (maybe) trying to paint some things/words as generally bad.

Justifying things isn't always bad, and neither is having any sort of agenda....some can have good and noble ones as well. Most of us have some sort of agenda on various things we say/do...that's just how humans are.

=====================
Addition-As for evidence: Do we really need evidence to prove some companies aren't just pandering to various marginalized groups to make a buck as if we were all just another fad to make money off of?

So all those media companies(games/movies/comics) are putting more and more LGBT/women/etc in out of sheer coincidence?

kai2: Remember how playing as Lara Crofft (Tomb Raider) was supposed to be making boys into girls?!
Never heard of this particular thing. Playing Sonic games is supposed to make you into furry, though.

I think that user was trying to show that someone saying I didn't exist would be a bad thing or them wanting me to not exist. Afaik I made the name up and it's not based on anything.

That actually "worked" on me....well that, the one Robin Hood cartoon, Space Jam, etc.

Which is exactly my point. If you made up a name and someone denies you to use that name, that does't mean that this person also denying your existance as a person. By that logic I could claim that stackexchange forum "denies my right to exist", because LootHunter nickname is already taken there and I can't name myself like that.

That reminds me of all the people saying the same thing(mostly "concerned" white straight people, oddly enough)....that if one says they dislike someone or some things they do that that person must not want such people to exist at all.

Starmaker: Ahh, here's the drama thread!

re: pandering

It's not pandering, you galaxy brains.
avatar
GameRager: Actually it is and it's being done to sell the game to such people. Do you honestly think they just chose to make it not male/female and based on body type/voice out of the blue or to be nice?

4-vektor: And just fyi, on top of all gender related stuff, read the Wikipedia articles about intersex and chromosomal variability. There aren’t only XX and XY people walking this earth. I know, it’s complicated. But it exists. And it exists more often than you think.

GameRager: Less than 2% is not a whole lot, though.
1 in 50 people is a lot! That means it’s much more common than a lot of publicly much better known genetic anomalies. And certainly much more common than the vast majority of people would ever imagine. That means that in the US, there are about as many people with chromosomal disorders as there are Native Americans.

I was being generous....it's likely much less than that.

There's likely many more LGBT that aren't such than there are with such.

Oh I thought GOG locked it Okay then
Sooo...what's the issue? We're talking about a setting where people graft metal, neon lights and even animal parts onto themselves. By comparison, the ability to mix and match sex characteristics is not only basic, but mundane by comparison.

If CD Projekt Red adhering more closely to the setting makes it 'woke', then arguably the setting and even the genre as a whole qualifies.

richlind33: So trans "activists" attacked a rape crisis center in Canada because it was only for biological women. So I'm wondering, is this activism, or a potential hate crime?

TIL: All native Americans have Chromosomal disorders.

Or maybe I misread that.
So that's 1 on the left (doesn't say it but obviously male) and 1 on the right (doesn't say it but obviously female), which if my math is correct here should equal 2.
