Crewdroog: Jesus, and now Debbie. I hate musicals. HATE. I LOVE singing in the rain.

peace debbie and carrie, may your journey together be fantastical.

edit: and yes, there is actually a medical condition of dying of a broken heart: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takotsubo_cardiomyopathy

however, looks like the stress just triggered another, but fatal, stroke for Ms. Reynolds.

hedwards: I was just at the theater the other day and apparently there's going to be a screening of singing in the rain to comemorate it's anniversary this year. And that was before she died.
oh man, that would be fun to go to. I'd love to see it in the theater.
Didn't realize Debbie Reynolds was Carrie Fisher's mother! What a tragedy. Actually loved 2016 as far as politics go, but a miserable year for deaths. Except Castro. He can rot in hell.

I was at a Regal theater when I saw the ad for it, so they might be doing it as a chain. Unfortunately, I doubt that the license on it has lapsed, so it's probably going to be more money than it's worth.

Then again, probably not as bad as seeing Newsies streamed from Broadway.

sigh, i just looked and it doesn't appear that any of the Regal cinemas are playing it here. oh wells.

Ugh, yeah it may be expensive, but I almost never go to the movies, so i won't feel TOO bad about one splurge.
