I'd like to save multiple game screens just by clicking a key.
What are the best programs nowadays? (expecially free)

My old Hypersnap could grab almost everything on XP, but on Win7 it doesn't seem to work anymore in fullscreen.
(I'm not a fan of the slower\tiny windowed mode)

Can OBS do that too maybe?
I've never used it, so far.

P.S: btw, why is the F12 key reserved in Win7?

Using certain modifier keys together with printscreen should save the captured image to disk. Try adding one or multiple of shift, control and alt. I'm not on Widows myself, so I'm afraid I can't try them out and report to you.

EDIT: And as soon as you figure out which combination you need, there are applications that lets you rebind keys so that it does the combo you want, if you really need just a single key.

Uh, but would that create multiple files too?
Eg: snap0001.png, snap0002.png, etc

Also, in the past Hypersnap worked where the normal Printscreen couldn't.

It should name the shots by date and time. Something like screenshot_20160403_194534.png

Maybe - my memory isn't all too reliable sometimes.

I recommend Rivatuner (MSI Afterburner), lower you will find the setup for the screen capture settings. I tested it myself, and it work well. You can make an unlimited number of screenshots, with any selected key.

Thanks, but that seems to require an Nvidia or AMD card and I'm currently without a dedictated GPU O_o

EDIT: ah wait, it also says that it could still work in "limited functionality mode".

You could try Gadwin PrintScreen, I've used it a few times on Win7, worked quite well. The freeware version will be just fine.

Ctrl+PrintScrn usually works for most modern games and comes with your keyboard :)

Every time you hit that key combo it will make a new screenshot and, thus, a completely new file :)
