rtcvb32: I've seen captchas in 3 instances overall when i've been here.
1) Logging in (
cleared cache of cookies will do this too)
2) Accessing/Changing private/contact information (
probably requires 2-step authentication)
3) Redeeming keys
The first two of those probably are correct, haven't done them in a while.
As for redeeming keys, I do that regularly with the special newsletter ones and never see CAPTCHA.
HappyPunkPotato: I think it's more to do with how well Google can recognise you than how secure your account is. They can be a real pain in the bum if you try to prevent yourself from being tracked round the web.
My browser mostly stops tracking, though the GOG site is set as one of the exceptions.
I don't use Google in any case, as Duck Duck Go is my web search engine of choice.
And I never link my Facebook etc accounts to anything.
P.S. I do have a Google account for Gmail though and Google Drive. I only login and check Gmail through Thunderbird though, and haven't used Google Drive in many months. Outside of that, Google mostly only see me when I view a youTube clip, which isn't all that often ... not directly anyway ... and that is only when I am not using mpv.exe with yt-dl.exe to view them.
