That email with the discount codes "riddle" makes you complete a captcha before you can even see what the discount is for.

Please complete the Captcha to continue. It's nothing personal, just a crippling fear of robots.
No thanks. It's nothing personal, just a crippling fear of Google.

I didnt even get to see any captcha. Just the text. Not that I would have tried to solve it... Closed the GOG tab and deleted the GOG Email after reading that.

And unlike you I did take it personal. It motivated me to change my forum title.

Glad I'm not the only one! The captcha didn't show for me either thanks to NoScript. So annoying that so many websites insist on using Google.
Unbelievable .... really!
Hope you are happy now.

EDIT
Or perhaps I was mistaken.

Moderator censored 'Timboli's post?
I wasn't censored or contacted, but I could not browse to any Game page, not long after making my simple post.

Maybe I shouldn't have listed how many games I discovered and what I thought. I didn't name them or prices or provide links etc.

Or, perhaps it was just an almighty coincidence?

Refreshing the cache made no difference, restarting the browser made no difference. I even checked via VPN and different browser, but no luck, which makes me think that maybe it was a coincidence, and that GOG was partially down for a while ... 20 minutes or so.

I also logged out in the end, then logged back in and now all is fine again.

I could go to GOG's main page and Sales pages and my Wishlist and Game Library and Forum, but every individual game page brought up an error page ... big Globe on some creature's head. Mostly the same in VPN, except I wasn't logged in.

If you're signed up for the GOG newsletter, they sent it to you.

I can't see the captcha but can access the codes

You people should know better than to follow some suspect links in emails. NEVER click on links in emails! I hear it is all too easy to make an email look like it came from someone you trust.

Is the newsletter still broken and emails arriving when sales mentioned in them are just about to end?

How do I know I signed up for the newsletter? I mean gog's been sending me stuff about something on my wishlist being discounted and whatnot

XYCat:
https://www.gog.com/account/settings/subscriptions
but which one is it? I am apparently subscribed to everything except "Releases and Announcements"

I want to say... no? In recent times, I've had the newsletter email of the sale announcements come in on or after they're live on the site.

Process of elimination would be the only one you weren't subscribed to. For what it's worth, the email doesn't really make any effort to distinguish itself, it just said something to the tune of "since you're subscribed to our newsletter, here's a big blabbity blah of bloo pah".
