They have just announced Street Fighter V will be released for Linux. They advertise SteamOS as Valve is their official partner in the matter. Steam controller will be supported too.
Cool. That's 1/2. Just DRM-free to go!
Excellent news for me. Not so much the Steam controller bit, I've still got my SFIV Mad Catz TE, but native Linux is always best. Certainly makes the "no Turok on Linux" news this morning easier to deal with. :D
Cool news. I'm really interested in the game. I never could connect to SFIV but I'm hoping V will be a better fit for me. I think I will need to get a RAM upgrade or a PS4 to get into it though. The Linux support kinda is making me want to throw support behind that

I think we're screwed on that deal given the move away from defined releases into rolling updates.
One step on the right direction. Unfortunately, I'm afraid they'll stop there. :-(
Good news. Next steps -> DRM-free + release their games on GOG. :)

It just means that we'll have to wait until they stop updating the game.

With SFIV getting retired, we have a good opportunity to see if waiting works.

Is SteamOS still a thing? I remember them advertising it but it was never released. I built my Gaming rig to use SteamOS, and just gave up on waiting and put Win7 on it instead.

Still Capcom making some progress is good to note on putting more stuff on PC.

SteamOS is available since December 2013. How could you miss on that if you even build a gaming rig to use it (why would you even wanna do that)? Anyway, SteamOS isn't a big deal and enver will be I guess. Why would you want to use a Linux distro that just launches in Steam Big Picture Mode while you can user any other distro and install Steam?

Well i certainly looked for download links. Last i remember they had the two of their three reveals... and i just gave up waiting for them to release it. Simple.

It was also when i was going to push towards more steam games and programs, at least until i had my falling out with getting slapped by DRM 7 times in a row trying to avoid the DRM.

As ShadowOwl said, SteamOS has been around for some time. Recently released were Steam Machines with Steam Controllers and Links on November 10th.

If you still want the SteamOS, here are the official installation instructions, slightly misleadingly titled "Build your own Steam Machine" as they don't detail the process of building the actual console.
I wish Capcom would surprise everyone by not being shit and actually bring their games here.
SteamOS? Anyone actually use that? Heh!
yeah continue giving them free advertisement (and great idea using GOG servers and bandwith for it)

what best could FOSS wish for!
