I'll care more when there is a sequel(to me DDO does not count) but I might pick this up when it's on sale down the road.
Yaaaaaaaaay! :>>
As much and as hard as I tried, I couldn't get into this game. Two attempts with almost a year in between them, both times I quit after approximately five hours. It just didn't feel good to me. The combat system was a bummer and the story didn't convince me either.

I'd buy a PC version to give it another try, but let's be realistic: It won't be available DRM-free, so I guess Dragon's Dogma will be forever stuck on my personal list of unplayable games.
I almost shit my pants when I saw this news!

I have it on PS3, but that one is in the bottom of my closet, such is the nature of consoles. Plus, I wanted to play it again last year when I was away from my consoles and I couldn't, and I'm planning to move away again next year, so it's so great to just be able to download and play it on my PC anywhere.

Also, I always thought about how much this game would have benefited from mods. It will have been years since the first release, so I don't know how much support it will get, but I sure hope it does.

P.S.: I never played Dark Arisen and I wouldn't have bought the game again just for that, but combine that with a PC port and I'm definitely going for it.

Dark Arisin adds a whoe new bevy of content. And it includes in easy mode, and a different menu music.
Whoa. this is big. I remember that the guy in charge of the game said it would NEVER come to PC. I'm very glad to hear that it is because it is an amazing and fun game. The community is great too, I used to frequent the forums there a lot before I stopped playing the game. Taking photos in game and posting is HUGE.

I wonder if they'll let you have more than one saved character? That was the only thing I didn't like about the game.

Now I am just waiting for DD2.

I agree that I'd prefer a sequel (and a real one) to a PC port of Dark Arisen, but I love the heck out of vanilla Dragon's Dogma. Seriously, it put several of my projects on hold after I bought it on a whim for PS3 (and my computer would probably kill it where my PS3 at least had V sync). Although, my primary concern/s would be:
Would the game be comfortable with standard PC controls (like Witcher 2, which is far from ideal) or would it require a pad? I don't own a game pad for the PC and cannot imagine it, it would just be weird. One of those few areas I just genuinely prefer on a console are action games or RPGs (one made for consoles, not one that should have been more aimed at a PC)

After my many hours with the game I can't imagine the controls being any good with a keyboard. But I have been wrong before.
thats great
Depending on the PC port I'll probably get it. The only thing that was putting me off when trying to play it was the abysmal frame rate (there was barely an instance where it was at a steady 30). Maybe I'll try to get back into it before it releases on PC.

Voted the wishlist. It seems the trends is porting console games to PC and ,yes, mainly through Steam for now. But that is a good start.
Great news since it's a great RPG with some of the best boss-fights ever in gaming.

Yeah, pretty much. There's a bounty of good stuff for GOG to go after now, as the result of JP devs across the board supporting the platform, so hopefully that'll lead to something. Someday...
hopefully it will be optimized
