It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

So I can't complete reCAPTCHA because nothing is showing up. Can't contact support because, guess what? more reCAPTCHA that doesn't work. This is the first and only place i've encountered this issue.

Tried firefox, opera and chrome (fresh install) with and without add-ons. Any suggestions?

In Firefox, there's probably a purple or grey shield icon showing in the location bar (in front of the green lock icon). When on the redeem page, click it, and then click "turn off content blocking for this site". The page should be reloaded, with recaptcha showing.

If it doesn't, and since you see this with multiple browsers, it's also possible that you're using a 'firewall', 'virus scanner' or other 'security' product which is blocking tracking requests. (Or a privacy extension installed in multiple browsers?) Try turning that off temporarily.

Still, it's ridiculous that the recaptcha is there, and that we need to allow google tracking in order to redeem a gift. Please consider voting for the community wishlist item Nip google Captcha in the bud, which contains a long list of links to threads from users with problems similar to yours.
gstatic.com is responsible for google's captcha. See if that is blocked/blacklisted somewhere in your system.
You can also e-mail support, which will bypass the need to solve a captcha. Be warned, they absolutely will not help you with reCAPTCHA problems under any circumstance. They are convinced that their reCAPTCHA is perfect and that all faults are the user's problem. I spent a long time fighting them on this, and never was able to redeem a code.

If you paid for the code in question, or you know the person who did, and support cannot solve your problem (which seems almost certain in this case), ask GOG to reverse the purchase and void the code, on the grounds that the code is worthless to you if you cannot redeem it due to their broken design. If they refuse to void the purchase, look into whether the purchaser can dispute the purchase with the credit card company due to the vendor failing to provide a working product. This will definitely depend on local law and your cardmember agreement. If you go that route, read the fine print carefully to make sure your dispute is legally supported. (For example, some jurisdictions or card companies may only allow this type of dispute if the charge was fraudulent, which is not the case here.) Most vendors hate chargebacks, so if they started getting hit with enough chargebacks over a broken reCAPTCHA, perhaps they would pay attention when people report problems with it.
+1 on wishlist though it should include all captcha and similar stuff IMO; captcha etc needs to be purged from existence

Also wondering if captcha use by website is even legal for barring access to something I have paid for? (Obviously if it doesnt work then it cant be legal as the seller needs to deliver. Question is how hard is the seller allowed to make the delivery.)

Also: There are captcha solver add-ons available. Think they may require some (very small) payment though. Not sure how secure etc these are though, I am not sufficiently familiar with the topic.

Maybe trying these? :)

- Open the redeem page in incognito/private window mode.
- Add gog.com to your antivirus or firewall whitelist/trusted list.
- Input your code in the address bar, e.g https://www.gog.com/redeem/CODE - the green "CONTINUE" button may appear without having to complete reCAPTCHA.

If none of these work, I'd recommend redeeming your code on a different device. (e.g.your phone/tablet)

It doesn't. If it did, all the bots that are presumably the cause for recaptcha to have been introduced on that page would instantly be using that flow.

Could you pretty please convey the request to completely remove recaptcha for accounts which have spent more than $X more than Y months ago (similar to the threshold for being allowed to purchase gifts)?

I had this same issue a week ago where I could not log into the site for 2 days thanks to that captcha system. and same for redeeming gifts, I solve the image and click to continue and it says try again something went wrong. even trying all the methods mentioned...

Can you please for the love of god remove the CAPTCHA SYSTEM from this site???????????

And when that also fails, because the reCAPTCHA is just that bad, then what? Do you have any solution other than "Just keep trying on different devices, and hope eventually it works for no good reason"? Is there anyone to whom debugging information should be sent when the system keeps refusing valid answers? As several people have pointed out, at some point, your customers are trusted to do far more risky things than redeem a code, yet still the reCAPTCHA is thrown up to block even long time faithful customers.
Has there been any update to this? I'm having trouble redeeming a code too, no matter which device it is done on!
