I tried posting about a problem I'm having but clicking the Post my message button does nothing.

The button just keeps coming back.

It's a bug in the forums. When you do a new post and hit the key to post it, the box just stays there as if something is wrong (some letters on the screen look screwed up too) but it does post your thread. Simply close that box, refresh the forums, and your post should show up.

I did try that several times and did not see the post in the forum. Does it take a significant amount of time to show up?

For about 20 minutes this morning I couldn't post at all, and I don't mean the forum bug with the duplicates, I mean nothing! :P Like I said, twenty minutes later it started working again.

And I would imagine, that for those twenty minutes, if only for those twenty minutes, peace and harmony reigned throughout the GOG forum! :D

Tried again and it's still not showing up. Weird how I could post this message but not my other one. It's just straight text - nothing fancy. Any strange limitations? I'm not interested in peace and harmony. I want an answer to my damn question. LOL

Found the problem. I had a URL starting with h t t p s : / / and an error message appeared when I tried to edit a shell post with my original message. Once I removed that, the message was posted. It seem editing a post will give more problem information than a new post.

Why can't I post a new topic, but I can post a reply to an existing topic? I'm not using links.

Me either. But I can reply and edit my replies perfectly fine. One thing I'm tired of reading is when people reply with "make sure there are no links in your post" line of crap. No one is posting links, the fact is the coding for the forum is complete trash. I don't even have any special characters in the post I'm trying to create,

but the blame shifting is unreal. It's as if no one can accept the forum is broken.

People saying make sure there are no links in a post, reminds me of all the people who buy a Zenimax game when it first comes out, load the game with mods, then complain their game is broken, and blame designers Far be it for the mods to be the problem.

Either way i still cannot create a topic.

That's quite a number of assumptions you've made about a forum member, there, but have not provided any proof to back it up...

Maybe you're a spammer and the forum software has caught you in the act and it preventing you from carrying out said act ?. Maybe the software is smarter than you think ?.
