I have an SSD for my OS (Ubuntu 16.04) and an SATA for software, files, basically everything else, a pretty common setup these days. When I install games on my secondary drive, they run fine, but when I try to apply patches or DLC to games installed on that drive, I get a message telling me that there's no game there to patch/install to. This has happened with every game I've tried.

I've tested installing them on my SSD, and when I do the DLC and patches apply fine. I do not want the games installed on my SSD though. Basically, I'm wondering why the patches/DLC don't work when I try to install them to a folder in my secondary drive, and if there is a way to make them work.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Does your user have write permissions to the directory where the games are installed?

(Remember that you can symlink the GOG Games directory to a different drive.)
I don't think it is a permission error, as I still get it when I run patches/installers as sudo.

The symlink suggestion is a good idea; I'll try that if all else fails. Still, If possible I'd like to be able to simply navigate to my secondary drive in the installer (because that's what I'm used to and I don't want to learn new stuff, hahaha).
