If the posts in here are what the average user is like, I dread to think of what kind of messages GOG's support team must face on a daily basis...
And the game in question only makes it even better. I mean, if you don't have the patience to wait a while before you play, or to deal with some technical issues, you sure as hell don't have the patience to play a proper old-school RPG.

GOG pushed the client onto users, by keeping the classic approach but making it quite cumbersome.

They wanted to get into competition with a company that developed their client infrastructure since Halflife 2. GOG made that step, so they do have to provide the service as reliable as their competition does, when they want to stay in the game.

I see no whining here, just customers using a service provided by GOG and a game they paid for which they can't download when it should have been possible and in some cases can't start playing after having installed it from the client.

My advice use the classic approach, download the game with the browser from your library choosing classic installer, but be aware that keeping the game updated is a chore. But at least you can play the game.

UPDATE AGAIN: So here's something intersting I had to remove 60 GB worth of data from the install folder and now im reinstalling

Like c'mon man this GOG client is dumb and I'm going back to Steam. Literally zero problems

Also at least tell us when the game is coming out. And can be download it' s 2018 man

GOG please if you read this, fix your software

No, I meant on GOG you don't have to use the client. You can download an offline installer of the game.

*pines for the days of making boot disks trying to get soundblaster drivers / mscdex for cd-rom and above 580k base memory for 90 % of games to work...
Remember the days of managing IRQ addresses to get sound cards to play sound only to find you borked your mouse and had to reboot from the start? Oh man... That was fun. I don't miss those days, but I do remember them.

I should get the dial up modem sound as my Win Startup sound...
I used to be THE SHIT - a 56.6 k modem when everyone else I knew had 14.4 or 28.8... a dedicated phone line for that modem... those were the days!

Dejavous: again, GOG is the server your "downloading" the game from they could be having any sort of issues with conectivity or storage, WHO KNOWS.... they are just the equivelent of FED EX as for 3 hrs it common etiquette that time be given depending on the issue it can take up to 3 hrs (I'm IT I know) the game will be available as soon as they resolve the delivery issue their (GOG) having.

Your right you have the right to complain that you didn't recieve that toy 10 min. ago, just like little billy throwing a tantrum in the middle of the store because mom said no. it just make people shake their head and wonder as they try to ignore.
More like you want to leave the store with your purchase that you paid for, but it set off the security system and now they're making you sit and wait whilst they interrogate you for daring to want to take your own purchase, already paid for, home.

Especially one that will likely need to be patched to fix the tons of issues that will arise. This is an Obsidian game we're talking about.

This is some of the outright stupidest fucking logic I've ever seen. GOG is a pile of shit that doesn't fucking work, people want to play a game they paid for and in many cases backed on Fig, and you're equating that with "well you won't have the patience to play the game anyway!"?

Yeah, fuck you and the horse you rode in on. Go fellate a shotgun.
