Silent Hills
Admittedly I think that it would have continued the series' tradition of beating a dead horse but at the same time I'm a fan of Kojima's work and am at least curious what he would have done with the license. It probably would not have been a good Silent Hill but it probably would have been a great game.

Freedom Fighters 2
I think it wasn't ever officially announced but some sources suggested that IOI were working on it, although those may have actually been about Kane & Lynch which quite obviously began as a spiritual successor to Freedom Fighters. However, IIRC there was also some report from EA which suggested that they were planning a sequel to Freedom Fighters. It's one of my favourite games of all time so this cancellation really hurt.

Outcast 2: The Lost Paradise
Ages ago there were plans for a sequel on PS2, there are even some screenshots around. I really love the original game, it's a bummer it never got a sequel. But there's still hope, I guess.

In response to some of the other suggestions:

Outcast 2: Looked every bit the third person action PS2 game. I didn't see anything that made the original stand out in the screens that were available of it.

They: Again, pretty generic of the platform. Only this time it's a first person corridor shooter with lots of glowing stuff going on. Weapon customisation and the weapons in general looked good and are worth salvaging though.

Dungeon Keeper 3: It would have been great to have a third one, but I'm not aware of there being much work on it at the time of Bullfrog's demise. All I've ever seen is a small teaser video suggesting outside environments.

Alien RPG: Incredibly ropey, even for an early build. The average PS2 game looked a hell of a lot better 8 years beforehand. Obsidian are always hit and miss company and this was looking like a big miss.

The original sequel to Operation Flashpoint before Bohemia Interactive split with Codemasters.

It was meant to have a better environment with vegetation and buildings that would get properly destroyed when you blew them up and other things.

There never was such a cancelled Operation Flashpoint game by Bohemia Interactive. After the split-up Bohemia kept the rights to everything excluding the Operation Flashpoint name, so whatever they actually had ended up in ARMA. The features you cited were just typical over-promising.

It's called TimeSplitters: Future Perfect.

IMO it's the best in the series by far.

This is also my biggest pain when it comes to games that I never got to play. It makes it even a bigger loss to know, now, that it was the last time that all of the original cast played their roles.

I think the big mistake they made was trying to use all that "state-of the-art" graphics and modelling. Had they simply used the same engine that was used in 25th Anniversary and Judgment Rites, I'm sure we would have an outstanding trilogy now.

And yes, that trailer video was on Starfleet Academy CD-ROM.


But Leisure Suit Larry: Lust in Space actually got cancelled, and there was some work already done for the game. I think there was some short video clip on Al Lowe's site (or some other place) about that. That's all that remains anymore, as whatever existed went to dumpster when Sierra was finished as a company.

And what's great about Larry 3 was really the beginning.

I think he's either refering to the fact that it was written by different people than the first two games, or that the game was a complete departure from the style that the first two games had (so much so that the remakes imitated MI3 style), or a combination of both.
But yes, I think it was never cancelled in any way. It was simply different.
And a remake of that was not even planned, as far as I'm aware of, so it's really a bit out of place here.
