This is just the new GOG. "gamer-friendly" and "DRM-free" weren't profitable enough so now they're trying out how to be a deceiving, censorship-enabling bunch of assholes.
It's very easy on Steam, but it's also possible on GOG if you're even more patient than usual.
Yep you should be able to get back what you paid.
Open another ticket and explicitly say you want refunded to your bank account.
Also, don't open another ticket, that will put you back at the end of the queue.

That would explain why they are removing a game and the only platform available for a developer because their game contained negative remarks about dictator Xi in China.

So now we know exactly where their interests lie and who owns them.

Try replying to it and saying "I would like a refund please, NOT wallet credit". If you get no response or you can't reply to a closed ticket then try opening up another refund request and reply to the "We have received your refund request!" email you get with "I would like a refund please, NOT wallet credit" to that. It's absurd that the ticket was just closed without solution.

Edit: Maybe a forum moderator here can "bump" this one along?
