Bad jokes?

Maybe once, you might get a way with a "Jews/Juice" joke, but this joker decided to go for it 9 times and also decided that rather than maybe abort after seeing that someone took his request to hold up a sign with any message, (His read, "Death to Jews" or along the same lines), he went on and happily recorded, edited, and uploaded that.

There are several points in the thought process where he could have said, "No wait, this is stupid.", and gone to record whatever passes for horror games in the 6-12 demographic, saving himself from getting kicked off of Maker and the Youtube Premium Advertisers program.

Sorta a reminder, Mel Brooks stopped making movies because of political correctness (or that's how i understand it). He made fun of all races equally, especially his own heritage (being jewish), and even played Hitler in one of his movies as i recall... Although apparently he also did the Hitler rap...

I guess it comes down to if you are going to do anything non-PC and the like, you better have thick skin.

because youtube doesn't ban those videos? Read the article. His videos were not deleted nor banned from youtube. He took some (maybe all) himself but youtube did nothing.

They just decided that he is not the best person to promote their brand.

WTF was Disney thinking teaming up with potty mouth poodiepie in the first place? Not that I'm some sort of saint when it comes to cursing but that idiot appealed to 12 year old's with his antics. Much as I hate his guts and have no clue how he is so immensely popular I'm glad he didn't get censored. Too much of that going around.

Pewdiepie is perfectly reasonable. If you got butthurt about one of his satirical antics, you should really try to understand why you watch stuff you don't like just to be offended. And if anyone thinks he is the worst on youtube, you're retardedly out of touch and wrong. There are smaller youtubers who are thousands of times worse than him.

Just because you're jealous and you get offended easily doesn't mean he's not enjoyed by others, and just because Maker fired the cash cow that he was doesn't make him any worse off. He can get hired by anyone he wishes, or start his own network and make even more money.

Well, i don't know what he did and why people got offended because frankly, i don't really care as i've never been a fan of him, he seems to play a "too retarded" (no offence) role to be able to watch him. That being said, i believe he isn't going anywhere even if he was "grounded" for now. The guy seems to be a goldmine and if you have a goldmine in your backyard, you try to find the best way to profit.

They bought out a network which was the overseer of another smaller network. It's a left hand vs nerve bundle on node 405 situation. Disney probably didn't even bother to fully audit the maker network.

The channel isn't banned. Youtube followed Disney's example and severed ties with PewDiePie by cancelling various brand sponsorships. It's basically a continuation of the Machinima incident, where the bland inoffensive corporate machine is clashing with the free spirit of Youtube by trying to turn it into daytime television. Take a look at the trending tab, it's about as corporate-sanctioned as you can get.

Geez, now that just sounds "holier than thou". :P

I don't follow Pewdiepie, so I'm not informed firsthand, but this seems a case of both him doing a stupid thing and Youtube\Disney overreacting.

Pfft. You make it sound like the public owns YT, which they obviously don't. If Google decided to kill certain categories of videos on a whim they can very well do that. It's more of a matter that before their new overlords YT let people get away with way too much.

Personally I don't like his stuff, but each to their own.
It was a silly thing to do, but you can see he's shocked/surprised they did what he paid them to do (stupid move in the first place) or perhaps he realised this would screw up his income, of which I'm sure he has plenty stashed to one side that he can live on for rest of his life with ease.
