I've tried to purchase KotOR 2: The Sith Lords and was unable to do so. While visible, the Pay button doesn't appear to be clickable.

Additionally, I've been getting the message to update Galaxy and have been getting this response...

"There was a problem with updating the application. You can always download the latest version from:
https..."

I've avoided doing this in case there actually is something wrong with my system.

Regardless, any help would be appreciated.

First, make sure the game isn't already in your library ("Oops, I forget I bought it in a sale four years ago" situations happen more often that you'd think :) ). If it is, it'll be unpurchasable unless you tick the option to buy as a gift.
As far as I'm aware, it's not restricted for Australians, unlike some games.
If you were trying via Galaxy, try making the purchase in a regular browser instead. If you were trying in a browser, try via a different browser (or via Galaxy), or on a different device.

Update Galaxy: The current updater is broken.

What you need to do is to make sure, Galaxy is not running and run the installer from the Webpage. Best is to relog, after a failed update the client would still show as 'open', even when ending the task.

I can assure you that I have never, EVER downloaded "The Sith Lords" (or had it on disc)... I've never played it, period (only the original many years ago) and I just wanted to see what the sequel was like.

Mate, did you try Hunch's suggestion and try purchasing via browser rather than through Galaxy?

If you still have version 2.0.55.99 installed, stick with it. Open %AllUsersProfile%\GOG.com\Galaxy\redists\ in File Explorer, then rename GalaxyUpdater.exe to something else, like GalaxyUpdater.exe-disabled.

Newer versions are broken and crash constantly in the background. It's also impossible to scroll the tag list if you have more than a handful.

That's not entirely true. I am using 2.0.58 currently and haven't experienced any crashes.
I updated it using the installer from the homepage.
These claims should come combined with the circumstances, OS (in my case Windows 11 Pro, lastest update) and installation location for example.

The point about non scrollable tags is true however, the list is cut off where the Galaxy window ends.
A tag editor would be nice, I would like to remove the ones anyway that got imported from Steam. A "dupicate on GOG" tag is kinda pointless in Galaxy.

Open Reliability Monitor. As explained in the thread I linked to, it's the background service that's constantly crashing. The UI doesn't suddenly vanish because that's a different executable.

If that service alone was the problem, then it should crash on every PC including mine which it doesn't.
It's important to analyze the environment it is running in to find out what's wrong.

Tried a different browser?

Tried with Galaxy?

Disabled ad-blockers? (fully turning it off in your plugin/extension settings properly).

Cleared your cache and tried again?

Checked your firewall isn't blocking something?

I know, these are all entry-level suggestions, but you're going to get asked this by official support anyway.

Also make sure you don't have in the cart any DLC for a game that you don't own on Gog.com.

I can describe it.

The "Pay for your order now" button is kind of semi-transparent and the little hand doesn't appear when you hover the cursor over it. Actually, I just now noticed that there's a message directly below the button: It says "You can't buy some of the products. Please review your order."

The bizarre thing is that I had KotOR and KotOR 2 both in the cart together and when I clicked to pay, KotOR went through but KotOR 2 didn't, which begs the question... Why allow you to put multiple games in your cart if you can only purchase them one at a time?

That seems ridiculous.
