Bullying puts a lot of chumps in their proper place. And it'll continue into adult life and in the workforce. Thick skins are necessary.

tort1234: In high school I was a tall kid so I was saved from bullying and never bullied anyone. No one ever bullies people twice their size.

However, bullying is a necessary part of life and should be. It exposes and separates the weak from the strong.

Bullies usually go on to do well in life after high school from my observation. The anger, aggression and frustration they have is channeled in the corporate world and they usually come out on top with a beautiful trophy wife next to them and many kids.

This guy below supports my argument.

You are the first one to admit just looking on when others were bullied.

I wonder if your argument about it being necessary - is about it necessary, or just about you not intervening.

Dominant male lions, bears, hippos etc kill the cubs, calves and pups so they could soon copulate with a female - but if human thinking was thus, we would be pretty much obliterated.

And unless you have not noted - human males or females do not accept child killers by default. Child killers have a hard time and censorship, and rightly so.

The weak are protected, beyond biological dominance, by social cohesion and intrinsic humanity.

How about reading Tomasello - "Why We Cooperate."

Thence i find bullying wrong - always have, and somewhat think you should too.

But I do not have a thick skin, and I never asked for it. But having been bullied, I had to enforce myself, and I will always feel great solidarity with those others unfairly disliked.

See my post above. I am honestly quite shocked that we should have us, human beings, behave beastly, rather than with compassion.

One person admitted to being bullied.

Another admitted to have seen it done, besides you. Unless the above was to say you did it.

The rest dismissed the topic. Thus far.

Why? Bullying is cruel - and I would have liked us gamers to be more generally kindly, really!
Vote for it on the wishlist!

But seriously, a thread about bullying from someone who for years has done little but twist bits of words beyond recognition to villainize others and maintain a completely unearned sense of moral superiority? You're a huge bully, and those of us familiar with you can recognize this as just another subject you care about less than your sanctimonious moralizing.

That's a strong stance there buddy, it takes a lot of moral fiber to stand by such an unpopular opinion.

In that same vein, I'd like to state, no matter how much hate I get for this, that I think Hitler was wrong. There I said it.
Troll the bullies. Or fart at them while they grunt, groan, communicate, or try to speak...
nevermind

Probably shouldn't post details in case there's a lawsuit later on. But, I've got plenty of reason to think that the complaints were motivated on my sexual orientation rather than on anything I did.

Source criticality please. Or this is my bullying art, or what not? ;-)

But even if your morality can take it - plus you would victimize yerself, maybe - suggest you spare it for later 227.

Bullying happens a lot and it is cruel. My dislike of it does not make it alright.

Say you dismissed me - did anyone feel more free to come forth with their view?
sorry i don't see the point
is this topic a bait from op to achieve or proove anything while/by using up and mindgaming people in anyway ?

or does op really expected any relief or help from a forum post that he couldnt get from irl friends, parents or whatever ?

i think many of us were bullied when younger, and we dont make a fuss about it. I mean, there are already laws and policies against it in many country and it yet didn't stop anyone from doing it to others or to fall victim for it.

afaic i put that in the "natural disaster" category (thus predictable but unavoidable).

would you come and rant on internet for relief against tornado, tsunami or whatever ?

i don't feel the desire or the need to share my own experience on the topic because it's personal and dealt with already. and i still don't see the point and am unsure of op's intents...

but i guess being genuinely puzzled and clueless will be labelled yet another form of bullying, right ?

i though can agree on discussing the matter in PM

Yup. Plenty of bait. Bait everywhere. I've lost track at this point of who's doing what.

I do find it true - if we were mere beasts, we would act like some, without fear of fault, favour, or morality, or what is right or wrong.

But I must ask: in Finland school bullying is a painful topic because nothing is done about it effectively, even when our universal schooling system should be rather ok.

In Brazil?

I do not wish to be too straight on, so let me ask: had you a child, could you be confident that she or he would go to school with only ever feeling about their scholar achievement? Is it better?

Qu'est-ce quoi?

Djaron - vous-êtes une personne, ou c'est un blouff? Dites-donc!

As much I enjoyed doing European university exchange in Paris, I cannot think French primary school is perfect. You wish to say there is no bullying in France, or what's that?

Edit: hopefully made more correct "quoi" in the first sentence. My French is certainly questionable spelling-wise, even if I totally appreciated the chance of having done a university exchange in Paris, learned a lot, and hope the Finnish students continue to do so!

I can only speak for my personal experience. My junior high was in a small religious private school (sorry, I know you hate religion), small enough that the entire staff knew everyone personally and could have spotted any problems as they appeared and acted accordingly. So there was neither the space nor opportunity for bullying to occur.

My high school was the complete opposite, in a very large public high school/technical school. I only studied in the high school part of it yet they treated us the same way. No one would babysit you over your grades, or whether you show up to every single class. Think like college. Total freedom, but you are expected to have the responsability to work for yourself. There was no bullying there either. No one treated us like children, in turn it felt like everyone had way too much stuff going in their own lives to waste their time with something petty like bullying.

Maybe other schools are different, I couldn't speak for them.

I knew it! I knew this would happen!

People say we're in an age of political correctness, and that people shouldn't be judged, but the moment you say you don't agree with Hitler's policies, or that you don't identify yourself as a nazi, then suddenly it's okay for you to be judged, and everyone brands you as some kind of anti-nazi bigot!
