MaximumBunny: But honestly, why would anyone at your workplace know your sexuality in the first place? Being open about what you do with your genitals is not a professional attitude for anyone to have at any jobs, with the exception of the porn industry. There's more to your story than you'd like to reveal/admit.
At my last job, I kept to myself and did my job. Yet my boss and an employee figured out I was gay or bi-sexual after only a month. I'm not a "loud gay" type. I don't tell anybody my sexual orientation unless they ask. I don't make a huge deal about it at all.
When they wanted confirmation I told them yes, I'm bi. Luckily my boss and that employee were very nice people. They treated me just as they always have before they knew.
A few weeks after that, while having a quick smoke with another employee he asked me if I had a girlfriend. I told him I actually had a boyfriend, again, he wasn't an asshole, but he was pretty shocked. Apparently "I don't look like the type" which always makes me laugh when I hear that. What does the "type" look like exactly?
Point being you don't have to be loud about who you're sleeping with. People pick up on things, or you just get asked a simple question. I don't lie about my sexuality so I'm honest about it. I haven't run into anybody that gave me shit for it, but maybe that's because I'm bulky and scary looking :>
As for bullying, I experienced it early on in school, got sick of it, and finally started fighting back with force. Some detentions, suspensions and bruised faces (including mine) later and suddenly I wasn't a target anymore. It didn't have to come to that but it did. Most the people that picked on me were complete losers and drug abusers, and after I graduated I heard stories left and right of them dropping like flies. So no, not all bullies become some rich suit with 5 cars that fucks their plastic wife every night.
