Funny little thing is that kids are playing this before finishing the original game. I adore this mod, but making a fresh Doom game after all these years it is expected. I don't understand how youngins can enjoy this as much without playing the original game.

Not sure... I know i loved making wad files and maps for death matches over the LAN back in the mid 90's, i still have them backed up somewhere...

I actually really enjoyed making maps too...

Hell yeah. Doomed and such like. Still got them somewhere. There were shed loads of maps coming out at the time. Its one of the few games I have actually played multiplayer in, remember the last level of the first episode, with the lift. I you spawn downstairs then you get all the weapons, but you know its going to be rocks dodging at top of lift. There's a brutal half life and quake, don't know what they are like though.

I was pretty heavy modder for Aliens Vs Predator community. Use to skin a lot of the Predators for people. Ah shame they're all gone now.

Oh, I don't know. It was ok, at least until it turned into offworld mario. Fecking hated that bouncy alien world part. Still it was better than the second helping.

Okay, that were three questions.
Brutal Doom is compatible with Doom and Doom 2, but you will need the original .wad files. In addition, you'll need a source port like GDoom to apply the mod and play the game with it.

The easiest way that I can think of to get the games? Buy them on Steam. They are available in the German Steam store. Better to wait for the summer sale, though. 9,99 € for either game is a bit much. >_>

Okay, that were three questions.
You need Doom 2 and a source port like ZDoom to use it.

If you're not averse to using Steam, you can get the original Doom and Doom 2 as an extra with the physical releases of Doom 3 BFG edition.

Instead of the original Doom 2, you can also use FreeDoom - Phase 2, although a lot of the mod's own animations will look pretty weird in conjunction with FreeDoom's assets.
