KainKlarden: The point is not in apologising, (I don't see why you should apologise anyway).

I'm just surprised that a user of GOG since 2012 can think that GOG doesn't care about stuff it does or things it has to do because of the legal reasons. -_-
Why? Maybe I just didn't express myself properly, but I honestly don't think they'll care about complains by a random user (me) if they have to remove things from my account: they'll ignore me and do it. Maybe they have bad feelings about it. Maybe they'll feel threatened, they have good reasons for it. But, they won't care and do it anyway.

I felt I should apologize because I jumped to conclusions after misreading the piece of news.
I didn't know we were getting these. Scared the bejesus out of me when I suddenly saw receipts in the email for things I hadn't ordered myself. Thought I had been hacked, but it was a much more pleasant surprise indeed :P

Just a small insight into the daily life of a retard...

Don't be so down on yourself! This was not an orthodox move on GOG's part. They gave minimal prior notice (or, if you don't visit the forum, zero notice). Good on you for taking to the forums for answers before freaking out. You're smarter than you let on. ^_^

221bBS: I got a little freaked out for a bit when I received an email titled "Your order #XXXXXXXXX is complete!" First reaction was, OMG someones stolen my identity.

Opened the email and found that I was charged $0 for a soundtrack. Glad I decided to take a quick look on the forum to see what was up. lol.
Likewise.

Thank you for your efforts here GOG (always appreciated), but as feedback for future reference:

1. Unexpected "you've just spent money without knowing about it!" email subject lines are alarming. Being aware of that in advance and (a) suppressing the purchase notifications if appropriate (in this case I think that would have been appropriate); or (b) sending some kind of calming companion email (subject line like: "We're adding the Broken Sword soundtrack to your account") would effectively avoid such alarm.

2. You have a Broken Sword forum :) That's the place that people were likely to look in order to find out what was going on... Perhaps you could have posted about this in there rather than in General, and not left it to the community to point out where the explanation was: https://www.gog.com/forum/broken_sword_series/broken_sword_purchase_out_of_nowhere/post5

Actually, it's good on the dedicated forum to look for answer after the email, but it was much much better to warn in advance on the general forum. Nobody checks subforums proactively. Maybe a post on each would have been the way to go.

Yes, that's what I meant. I would suggest the main thread should have been on the Broken Sword forum, with a closed-thread pointer to it posted on the General discussion forum.

HypersomniacLive: Got the Broken Sword 4 email, nothing for Broken Sword 1 yet, and its OST is still part of all other extras.
Well together we'll have the complete set of emails, since I only got one for Broken Sword 1 and none for the fourth one even if my order history shows that the OST of the fourth one was added five hours ago.
I got a message over night. Glad there is a reason for this. I thought my account was hacked.

It's a bit unnerving to get a transaction message while you're asleep and no explanation along with it. I could find the answer when looking for it, but the transaction message could you include a bit of information as to why the customer is receiving it.

This could be improved for the next time IMO.

That's odd, my orders show more or less the same time I received the emails - yes, email for Broken Sword 1 arrived about 4hrs after the one for Broken Sword 4.
Got the OST's... again. I missed this thread, but now I caught up. Still a strange thing that happened.
Good to know it was an intentional thing, thought my account had gotten hacked or something. Not a fan if it showed up as an order out of nowhere without any additional details.

Tekkaman-James: I'm assuming GOG's support team has to do this by hand, so it may take a bit of time for them to get the free codes added onto each account that owns these games. Personally, I got the "receipt" for BS4 already, but haven't seen one for BS1. I'll give them some time before I start getting worried.
It's done by an auto-redeem script that averages roughly 7-10sec per user. The whole process doesn't happen in one go - it went on for most of the afternoon yesterday, but everyone should've got their emails by midnight CET last night.

Both good points. Learning curve for the future! Thanks.

zeogold: Off-topic note:
I haven't seen you around in ages. I tried to get a hold of you a while ago, but the chat function for you is borked.
How ya been?
Hello Zeo !
Doing fine here, thanks. I hope you too ?
Oh ? my chat seems to be working yet (?)... but that might still be that bug ; since I changed my username, quite a long time ago... people couldn't reach me using my new username, nor send me a friend request !
