gogwitcher300: Greetings to every one
GoG stands on DRM-free gaming!
It also stands on the idea of preserving classics!

Everyone asks for the return of Severance: Blade of Darkness
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/severance_blade_of_darkness tfishell: I'm sure GOG would love to have the game back because of the income it would bring, but it appears for now that they legally can't bring it back.
I'll agree with what nightcraw1er said too, though there may be a bitter bias that some of us old-er timers have.
If you have Twitter, you could tweet Nightdive Studios, since they focus more on bringing back old games, sometimes porting them if need be. (They just recently brought Titanic to GOG.)
And there are "abandonware" preservation sites that might have the game.
A touch of bitter, 2 words just under name :o)
nightcraw1er.488: This is untrue. Gog is
a storefront for commercial purposes, therefore its purpose is to make money, nothing else. It has in the past been focused on bringing classics out as that was its selling point along with being drm free, this is no longer the focus, although they may still release some older titles, they focus more on what will make them the most money.
candesco: Captain obvious to the rescue. GoG is from CdProjekt, which is a rather large company. And companies always have the purpose to go for the biggest profit and make money. That is something which even occured in the beginning.
It's not some charity thing or so.
But gogwitcher300 is right here and gog was made with the idea to preserve classics. Hence the name Good Old Games. However, there is not much left of that idea anymore, as gog is now more or less the same as steam and also release newer stuff and comes with a client. They portrait themself still as the place where you find classics though.
No, it never was. It was started as a storefront. There is nothing remotely archiving about the site. It was their gimmick to get customers in. An archive of games would be profit free, not swayed by modern needs or wants, or motivated by money, it's a very simple difference. The change has been a move from older games to newer games, the need to make money has not change. They are not your friends, they are not doing things for the benefit of society they have, and always have been doing it for the money.
