To me, Brexit's like seeing a pair of your friends going through a divorce on the grounds of the ever-nebulous "irreconcilable differences". You're not an insider in the relationship, and so can never completely understand all the nuances of what's gone on between the two. You just hope they can keep it as civil as possible for the sake of any kids and for your ability to continue to remain friends with both.

If that had been the only thing to be voted on for Brexit I doubt the vote would've passed at all given how close it was. It was in no small part the misleading numbers being thrown around like 350 million pounds weekly loss etc. Many people voted because they thought they were getting a bad deal.

We were getting a bad deal, still are getting a bad deal and would have had an even worse one had Brexit failed. Truth is, even the remoaners didn't know what they were doing. All they cared about is being politically correct, keep their muslim overlords happy and to make sure no one gets to use freedom of speech. They lost and they're still pushing their shite.

That is exactly what the vote was about. Self rule, self determination and sovereignty. You think people wouldn't vote for those things because they are small?

The entire American Revolution War was fought for these ideals. WWII, The Cold War, Bringing down the wall, freeing Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia,

And the UK was getting a rotten deal. even if they didn't spend a dime (which they more than paid through the nose) they would still be getting a rotten deal being dictated too.

Well, fascism is a far right phenomenon. And I assure you, based on first-hand experience, that when right wing nationalist populists try to break free of shackles that allegedly hold back any sort of opportunities it is actually to take the first steps towards an authoritarian system only beneficial to a small elite and devastating to anyone not in line with their ideology. And you may want to read up on common definitions of fascism, you will see that there are serious correlations between them and the ideology of the parties which spearheaded the Brexit movement.

Heck, the the demonstrations in Poland started the moment our government began to threaten democracy but the biggest ones happened over stricter abortion laws, stuff that directly affects the lives of people. And what keeps Average Joe content is a program that gives money to families with children.

Technically the American Revolution was triggered by economic factors. It was primarily the taxes that pissed people off. But of course "AGAINST THE TAXES!" doesn't quite have an equally nice ring to it as "FOR OUR FREEDOM!". And go read some Thomas Hobbes or something to learn something about people's willingness to give up freedom in exchange for stuff.
