The DRM-free initiative.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!

There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
<span class="bold">Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:</span>

Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

To reclaim your game, just use one of the keys that came with your box. You can find more detailed information on the Reclaim your games, DRM-FREE! page to see if your key is compatible and just where to go from there.

This is just the start of something much bigger. We plan to add more titles to the list in the future - it's a long and complicated process that involves negotiating with multiple parties and a scavenger hunt to retrieve forgotten key-databases - but then, we are on a mission here, we'll do whatever it takes.

AWESOME initiative - this is why you guys simply ROCK!!!

Looking forward to more games being added to the list.

The ones I would really like to see added are the Lucas Arts SW games as I have ALL of them as retail boxed versions... :)
How can I reclaim Steam versions of STALKERs ? If it's even possible...
I have boxed copies of both Mount & Blade games, it says code is invalid on both :/
Did you miss part about M & B have to be RUS and CIS version? Talk about almost false advertizement.

Must have missed that.... but seriously? Russian version?

Well that's a bummer :(
Guys, i think the GOG team hasnt added all the Stalker ck keys to their database as this is really annoying. Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl and Clear Sky redeemed like a charm but Call of Pripyat wont budge. All 3 are steam games legally bought through steam. GOG team please verify this error and fix it please.

I could redeem only Clear Sky, the other keys I get that the code is invalid. I know for sure that the keys are legit since I've bought them all on Steam.
So far 17292 games worth $278,887 were already reclaimed DRM-Free!

Impressive :-)

Ofcourse they are legit, we just need to wait for a response and see what happens, because buying the game again on GOG and having a spare key lying around on steam is stupid. The blue guys know what to do :D
Wow. This is a cool move.
If only I hadn't repurchased Stalker on GoG. :)

Try the trading thread. Just make sure redemption actually works with your key before you get locked in a deal only to discover it doesn't.
I can only say thank you, thank you, GOG.

This is something I really appreciate. I have been seriously considering purchasing the STALKER games again. Because of TAGES I was never able to finish Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat gave me lots of trouble, too (I don't remember what DRM it had).

As soon as I have my boxed copies at hand, I'll take advantadge of this.

Once again, thank you. No one could demand such a move from you, and doing it is once again prove of how true you still are to the original no DRM vision you started with. I am now even more of a fan of this site, and will continue recommending it over anything else.

In steam, click each Stalker game. To the right of steam client it`ll then show CDKEY. Click that, click copy to clipboard, then redeem it here.
For Shadow of Chernobyl, you`ll have to check your regedit for the key or play the game & check multi player, apparently the key is shown there too.

Job`s a good `un! ;)
Great! Another 3 classics went to 'hidden' on steam and on shelf here :) GOG is best for 'fully patched' older games, but still need to work on getting patches to more recent titles (for example: This War of Mine). Maybe it change with this Galaxy thing.

INFERNO.COP: Might as well throw this in here just in case, but that's for 64 bit systems. If by some chance you're using a 32 bit one, just disregard the "Wow6432Node" since it won't be present. Also you will not only have to install the game but start it as well.

mm3n: Any tips when the key there still turns as Invalid when I try to redeem it on GOG? Friends of mine confirmed it worked for them too, but for some reason it doesn't for me. Quite a bummer. :/
All of mine come out as invalid as well so can't help you there mate. And while I'm on the subject, leaving it overnight doesn't seem to have helped at all yet. Will keep waiting for the rest of the day but after that will probably file an invalid key ticket on steam.
