The DRM-free initiative.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!

There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:

Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

To reclaim your game, just use one of the keys that came with your box. You can find more detailed information on the Reclaim your games, DRM-FREE! page to see if your key is compatible and just where to go from there.

This is just the start of something much bigger. We plan to add more titles to the list in the future - it's a long and complicated process that involves negotiating with multiple parties and a scavenger hunt to retrieve forgotten key-databases - but then, we are on a mission here, we'll do whatever it takes.

I already have the Stalker games on GOG, so there's no use in reclaiming the keys, that came with the disks, that I also own.

But still, good move, GOG!
wow .. that´s a pretty nice move!

Thanks a lot!
GOG, wil.....will you marry me plox!?

This is an amazing day, especially as just rebuilt the pc/got internot & this was the first thing I saw \o/
Even more so because steam has decided to patch all three games, without telling me why, & has made all three games unplayable until I do patch them.....£$&)*"&)*"£ GITS!!

Too many pages to scroll through, but for any that couldn`t find their Shadow of Chernobyl key...

"There is. You need to download the game completely and launch it once. Then open regedit and the key is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GSC Game World\STALKER-SHOC\InstallCDKEY
Edit: if using 64-bit windows then the key is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GSC Game World\STALKER-SHOC\InstallCDKEY "

Cyraxpt: Don't be harsh on me since the day (the week actually) has been terrible for me, i'm a bit confused with this so i just want to know:

Can i use my Steam key from Stalker Clear Sky and CoP and the retail key from my box version of SoC to have the three games here?
avatar
Grargar: Not your Steam key, but the key contained within the game's entry in your account.
I'm confused, what is that and where can i find it?

You don't need to fish around in the registry, the key is the same key shown when accessing the multiplayer menu in the game.

For Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat, just set your Steam Library view to detailed (and all games, if you don't have it set there already) and go to the entries for the games. On the right-hand side of the game info window, there's a "CD Key" URL which will open up a window in Steam that will allow you to copy the CD/serial keys for those games.

Alas I can`t load the game at all unless patched & I`m (suffering) mobile internots at the minute :(
HKEYs was just the fastest/cheapest way for me to get at it :)

My COP key keeps coming up invalid.
It's a good begining. I like to re-claim my old adventure games. Please GOG!
Keep doing this stuff, GOG. I own a boxed copy of Sudeki for PC, and it was plagued with Starforce IIRC. Maybe one day...

TCMU2009: My COP key keeps coming up invalid.
Seems like a common thing. I mentioned it in a previous reply, but you might try filing a support ticket with Valve to see if they can re-assign a new key.

Also, FWIW - "invalid" is not the same as already used, so for whatever the reason don't immediately conclude that your key has been pilfered by someone using a keygen or some other kooky pirate tool.
Oh, ok, i get it, CoP wasn't working so i thought i needed something different.
So at my end:

CoP = Invalid (Is there a solution?)
CS = Activated
SoC = Doesn't show the key option (i guess i'll have to install it)
Like many others, my SoC is coming up invalid. I took a look at the JavaScript console, and it shows a request to a page validating the key returning a 400 (Bad Request). Bringing up that page directly shows an image and the text "We're overwhelmed by popularity of our service ;) Please check back soon!" So maybe it's not so much that the key won't be accepted, but that it just can't handle the verification right now.
This is incredible. I have so many of these games over the years. You guys are the best!!!!
Thank you foŕ this great surprise!

I have bought most of my old games here by now and seeing actions as this I do not regret it. :)
