The DRM-free initiative.

We've always been on a mission to offer you games with no DRM protection whatsoever. Today, we want to start taking things a step further, help out people who bought a retail game with DRM, then ended up stuck with something rather unplayable. We can help you enjoy your favorites once again, and this time around, enjoy them DRM-free!

There are countless retail games out there that don’t work for various reasons: unsupported types of DRM, system incompatibilities, broken features. There's too many too count. Starting today, owners of several retail titles originally sold with DRM can get a digital copy of their game completely free at GOG.com: with no DRM as always, compatible with modern operating systems, and with plenty of goodies to boot.
<span class="bold">Reclaim these games, DRM-FREE:</span>

Editions released worldwide:
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

Editions released only in CIS & Russian territories:
-Mount & Blade: Warband
-Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword
-Eador: Genesis

To reclaim your game, just use one of the keys that came with your box. You can find more detailed information on the Reclaim your games, DRM-FREE! page to see if your key is compatible and just where to go from there.

This is just the start of something much bigger. We plan to add more titles to the list in the future - it's a long and complicated process that involves negotiating with multiple parties and a scavenger hunt to retrieve forgotten key-databases - but then, we are on a mission here, we'll do whatever it takes.

That's awesome, you guys are amazing!
What if we already have the games both retail and GOG? Do we get gift codes?

I have Star Wars Republic Commando
The Witcher (it didn't come with a CD-key for some reason, despite being brand new and retail)
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga
Star Wars Battlefront
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat

and like a ton others.

bouncedk: So for your Steam copies of
Stalker: Call of Pripyat & Stalker: Clear Sky - The keys can be found within the client. They work.

For Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl you need to install it, run the game once and then enter regedit.
Win32bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GSC Game World\STALKER-SHOC\InstallCDKEY
Win64bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GSC Game World\STALKER-SHOC\InstallCDKEY
Having the same problem as some others here.

My Clear Sky Steam code worked, but my Call of Pripyat Steam code says invalid when I try to reclaim.

I thinks its not possible for SW games.

Look in the manual. The US version had one on the other side of the cover page I know this because my US copy of The WItcher had this :) I am not sure how the EU version was handled, however :)

bluesky777: 1 out of 3 Stalker Steam codes worked for me:(
COP and CS didn't work:(

Both my SoC and CoP aren't working. Getting an "code is invalid" error.
That is pretty cool feature! Thanks GOG
Used my Steam keys.
I got Clear Sky and CoP, but the SoC key is invalid.
Awesome move, GoG!

By the way, I've redeemed my disc copy of Shadow of Chernobyl successfully, but when I try to redeem both Clear Sky and CoP keys from my Steam library I get a "Invalid code" message. Those keys are not compatible with this new reclaim system?

Same here.

Any idea why?
Thanks for it, gOg. Awesome initiative:)
Since don't have any stalker game hope you enlarge list of games soon.

Elmofongo: So essentially I just redeem a CD Key from a Retail PC game? The only one I have of the GOG library is Star Wars Republic Commando.

Redeem its CD key and I get a GOG version?
avatar
JudasIscariot: As of right now, you can only redeem what's listed on the redemption page. We hope to add many more titles to that page but it will take time and all that :)
None of my keys are working. Are you guys aware of any problem ?
