StrongSoldier: Hopefully they keep their word and don't buy from gog again
Wait, whose word are we talking about? Because as far as I'm aware, this is explicitly a time-limited boycott.
avatar
StrongSoldier: No, those who have participated in this will be responsible for the fact that the only store no drm has not disappeared drm. Luckily, as we can read on social networks, they are the small group of users that always cause problems.

Gog ignores them, and gog users ignore them. Hopefully they keep their word and don't buy from gog again, it's the best thing that can happen to all of us.

mrkgnao: Yes. I agree. That would be the best thing that could happen to all of us. The more of those troublemakers we can convince not to buy from GOG again, the better.
Yes. If there were enough troublemakers who demand that GOG stay DRM-free, GOG might actually be forced to stick to their pretend principles.

Say, what army are you a soldier of, exactly?

A troo believer in the Dee Ahh Emm-free cause, obviously!

Yup, and those who advocate against DRM will be responsible for games getting pirated en masse and honorable publishers going out of business. ;P

Apparently the mods here do not condone comparing anyone's way of starting a discussion with the behaviour of those infamous creatures from Scandinavian folklore, so I'll say no more. O_o

Hexchild: If they actually end up shutting down because of this boycott (and I highly doubt that will happen) then it's because of GOG, since they made promises they couldn't keep.

You've said the same thing about 6 times in the last 3 pages and still haven't addressed the obvious counterpoint that has been mentioned numerous times now. Seems like you're not really interested in what anyone else has to say?
Negative guy time: I am in this horrenodus conspiracy to destroy "the only store no drm has not disappeared" too, and... well. I do it more out of principle than anything else, I doubt 85 forumites plus those who do the same but never participated here will even make the smallest of dents in CDP's finances, let alone sway their full steam course through corporate hell.
It's far more likely they commit involuntary suicide by releasing another quality game like Cyberpunk.

Isn‘t that what trolls always do? Press repeat each time and never answer any arguments that are brought up? If he had some good counter arguments, why not enlighten us?

I think he said some stuff about Steam DRM but, as I said earlier, it never caused me any problems and I'm able to enjoy all my games on there just fine. Nothing personal to those on that part of the fight, but my boycott ends when Devotion sees official release.

LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE YEARS AGO BECAUSE THIS "CONTROVERSY" IS A FRIGGIN' JOKE.

SERIOUSLY GOG, STOP MAKING SILLY TWITTER POSTS AND RESPONSES THAT IGNORE THIS, GROW A PAIR AND TELL THE "MANY GAMERS" TO SHUFFLE OFF IF THIS ONE GAME NOBODY'S MAKING THEM PLAY CAUSES SO MUCH WHINING.

WeirdoGeek: IF THIS ONE GAME NOBODY'S MAKING THEM PLAY CAUSES SO MUCH WHINING.
If those 'Gamers(TM)' exist, they probably never intended to play the game in the first place. Complaining about it is just an easy way to earn 'social credits', which is a thing in China. Defending the 'honor' of the glorious leader is a way of signalling one's support to the regime, in the hope of getting preferential treatment in the future.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst and all that... but yes, spot on (either way how one sees CP2077) ;)

Time4Tea:
@Time4Tea:
You can put me up in the sympathetic list, for now. I haven't bought anything this year and I'm not quite sure if I will yet, but, for reasons under, I'm more likely to than not...

I've said my piece about the whole Devotion fiddling, CDPR scamming people (, releasing a broken game, and shackling reviewers), and GOG choosing to go silent and mostly ignore it's customers, this forum, +++ (we all know how long the list is), but despite all that, the only thing thing that is more important to me right now is the offline installers.

(Also, my backlog is still kind of heavy on my shoulders...)

Like many others here - if those are gone then I'm also out of here. Despite the 2 hours limit on refunds, Steam does it so much better, technically at least.

I noticed something interesting in todays' tweet replies. The statement where the Zoom platform that has already been mentioned a few times here and Top Hat Games showed interest in publishing Devotion. While I have yet to see proof of the former expressing desire, but this is welcome news if they are. I already new the deal with Top Hat.

I personally think Top Hat should be the ones to take care of this, given they were in this situation too but did the right thing. However, if Zoom wins, will I need to make an account there or do they have one-time purchases?

You need an account. But no client or other unnecessary stuff. Just direct download of offline installers.

The GOG community is truly evil.
