fronzelneekburm: Meh. I'm not gonna become a Steam regular just because gog have decided to bury their heads in their collective arses. Maybe if it's a Dee Ah Emm free build, but outside of that, I'll just wait it out. Got enough stuff here to last me several lifetimes.

WeirdoGeek: That's cool. Just saying there are alternatives.

Also, I see the "many gamers" have seen my post.
Actually your post made me notice something: It appears that all reputation on posts in this thread starting from https://www.gog.com/forum/general/boycotting_gog_2021/post1240 has been purged. None of the posts after that show high/low reputation to me. I noticed that your post had low reputation before which is gone now. Dont know if this is happenstance or GOGs or users doing though.

It's doing that for me too! I also notice nothing much happened on here today.

A company that gives a finger to the rest of the world so they can bow to China - and anyone is expecting an unbiased "social credit score" from them?

fronzelneekburm: Damn, Stubbs is a fun game. Still have a retail copy. Would've been an instabuy.

Unfortunately, unlike gog I have principles. Hopefully gog will smarten up until Stubbs is released (heh, yeah right...)
There's been a number of REALLY good sales after the whole Devotion thing happened, and I have my doubts it's purely coincidental.

I also thought they were trying to hide the fallout from Devotion by empowering sales. With "hide" I mean sth like:

Shareholder asks: "We are worried about the Devotion thing. Wont that have a bad influence on revenue and profit."

CDP guy: "We have closely followed the situation and analyzed it. The customer purchases after Dec-12 were comparable with the ones from the year before." (Showing curves on screen.) [And of course he isnt going to say that the sales were bigger and better than the ones in the year before - assuming that is true which I dont know.]

Shareholder: "Well, I mean... We DID promise Red Candle we'd help their game get a second chance and we kinda promised our customers too with the announcement. Plus, you have to admit the new guy did an ABYSMAL job with the cancelation notice. Perhaps instead of these sales and silly Twitter posts, we should just apologize and re-"

I have also noticed what seems to be an increased level of 'desperation' with recent sales, as well as with GOG's marketing in general. I don't think I've seen so many e-mails coming through before about exclusive discounts, as I have in the past two months.

Of course, there's no way we can know if this boycott is having an effect, or if it's just people being more generally pissed with them. In any case, I suggest we keep turning the screw.

The recent sales really were exceptionally nice. Would be a shame if it was a Devotion diversion. But nooooo, GOG loves games so nah that can't be the case.

They were? Seemed like pretty bogstandard stuff to me. Back when they had enthusiastic staff every sale was an EVENT (Insomnia Sale, Luck O'The Irish, etc.). Now it's always the same "Here are some discounts, buy our shit".

Could it be that more and more people have less money and/or lost their job because of a... certain situation?

Oh, I think the assumption that many people are generally pissed with GOG/CDPR is a valid assumption too. The severely botched Cyberpunk release and the 'many gamers' lie didn't exactly go over well.

Yes but financial troubles of some individuals can be no excuse for lower standards of money-infused corpo.
So I just found out from this post
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/list_of_drmfree_video_games_digital_distributors/post182

that Playism will very soon discontinue selling DRM-free on their own website :(
( https://blog.playism-games.com/termination-playismstore-membership-services/ )

That is rather distressful...

And btw, Detention is available there (the only place where it's currently DRM-free is Playism website) so some of you interested in getting it DRM-free should probably hurry :/
I'm kind of in a pickle personally since I wanted the game (I wanted a lot of games that are DRM-free only on Playism) but I am in a financial hell atm :(
