Hello everyone, can i have a question ?
I'm new user here to gog
I'm member from November
Now for Xmas i bought A LOT of games here on gog. If I install one of them in April, for example, and it doesn't works i don't have money back guarantee ?
I need to install them all and try it all ?

Thanks
Best regards
Happy XMAS to all!

If your PC meets the system requirements and the game doesn't run regardless, you can can write a support ticket, and support will try to help you in getting it to run. If they don't succeed after a few suggestions, you'll get your money back. This is independent of the time you bought it.

If you bought a game for a system that's not officially supported, you're dependent on the goodwill of the support team. You can try to return it, but there's no guarantee. I think this is also independent of the time you bought it (meaning it could prove difficult even now - you're supposed to check the system reqs before buying; but often the GOG team is very accommodating).

In general, it's easier to have something refunded if you haven't downloaded the DRM-free installers yet; but of course you'd need to download them in order to try the game (unless system reqs already tell you there might be problems with your system).

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Hello MagicJek and Merry Christmas to you, as well.

The money-back guarantee is effective for 30 days after purchase.

If, within 30 days after the purchase of your game, you experience technical problems or game-breaking bugs that prevent you from finishing your game, contact our customer support. They will do their best to help you fix the problem and if, at the end of their attempts to solve the problem your game is still not working, we'll give you back your money.
Beyond the 30 days window, it will be up to the discretion of the GOG support if they will deem your purchases refundable.

Actually you're right and I was wrong; I thought a valid reason would always be a valid reason, but apparently the policy restricts the refunding period to 30 days, even if you do have a valid reason. I should have checked before posting, thanks for correcting! :)
@leroux @grargar
Ok thanks, i have a good pc so i hope that all works fine.
So it depend on the goodwill of staff
I hope if 2 game doesn't work on 50+ games i can have refounds :D

To be honest, I have way too many games here and I have yet to find one which doesn't work, or with an it of tweaking doesn't work. So long as your system meets the requirements, e.g. Win10 is supported if you use that, then you shouldn't get many problems. If you do there is always support, the forums, and the net.

They can't see when you install the games, but I guess they can see whether the games were downloaded from your account or not (although if you use the Galaxy client to download and install, that might be the same thing; but you don't have to use the client, and I think many of us forum regulars don't).

The money-back policy on the other hand is based on trust. They can't know if you're telling the truth if you say a game doesn't work on your system and their suggestions don't help, they just have to take your word for it and trust that you don't abuse the policy. (And for that policy, of course, the important part is that you contact them within 30 days, not on what day you installed the game.)
