Well, I am thinking differently. I try to buy only those things I actually think I need. I don't need to have the newest and best on the market. Unfortunately the same thinking does not always work when it comes to games since I simply buy too many even though I don't have that much time to play them all. :)

Thank you. To be honest. I volunteered to correct the localisation because the game really has a nice little story and in the first chapters the German localisation was actually pretty good. Unfortunately in the end it turned into google translate - yes, it was THAT bad. I had troubles even understanding the final sentences so I decided to fix this because the game simply deserves better. Luckily for me after a short conversation spotlightor decided that they would love to get an overhaul of the German localisation and they were really friendly and thankful for my work. I love investing my time when it is so much appreciated. Believe it or not, it's more worth than money.

You really should. It's not that time demanding as well and you can play it chapter by chapter with each chapter only taking a few minutes mostly ... so it is a good time for people with not so much time as well :)

No, there's no hurry at all. You can stop and smell the darkness ;)
Gameplay is as following: Your candle has limited amount of wax and whenever you light it (normally it is not lit) it uses wax. So if you use the burn/light button too often ot too long (hence the 10 seconds) you will run out of wax and lose a life. That's the reason why you are trying to use light not so often and you work your way through the darkness - being happy whenever something lights the area. Later areas are not as dark as the first ones though and they are introducing new gameplay elements constantly. When I started the game I just hit the light button and kept the light on .... got myself my first achievement (running out of wax) and my first death pretty fast :)

not in but grats on the new CPU the i7-4790K is a monster when it comes to overclocking, my friend still uses it with a gtx 1060 6gb model. I have to admit it still holds up in todays games with ease. I miss my old 3770k, was amazing at a lot of applications and had amazing temps even when overclocked.

Not in but I'm a bit puzzled as to why you changed your dissipator. Both the 4440 and the 4790K have approximately the same (reasonable) power consumption (around 80-90 W), so your old one should have sufficed.

I've heard that Surviving Mars, during the late-game, becomes severely CPU bottlenecked. The bigger your colony(colonists+drones) the more CPU is required to keep up the simulation.

Congratulations on your new CPU, the extra 4 threads will be a lifesaver, especially in the applications that were previously CPU bound. Also, the latest development, and what the industry seems to be focusing on, is the gradual increase in CPU cache memory. i7-4790K has 8MB while the smaller i5-4440 has only 6MB. It doesn't seem like much but it really help.

As it has been mentioned, currently the Ryzen CPUs are above Intel's. In fact the only advantage Intel CPUs have going for them, is the overclock potential, but that's only at 5GHz. With Ryzen you just settle the CPU in the motherboard, use the stock fan that comes with the CPU, and never worry about overclocking or overheating. By the way, Ryzen 3600(the current price/performance king) has 36MB cache.

Funny 4790K and 1060/6GB is exactly my hardware, too :)
All I can say is that I tried the old one first before I changed (one day later) and while the old one managed to reach temps near 100 degrees celsius the new one never goes above 70 degrees with 100% usuage.

I don't remember having ever heard of Candleman nor do I remember when it came to GOG but it looks quite nice and I'd like to give it a try, so I'm in.
