With Kickstarter beta access on GOG.com!

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is becoming one of the biggest, most successful Kickstarter campaigns in history.

Straight from the under the watchful eye of Koji Igarashi, one of the godfathers of the genre, comes the newest exploration-focused, side scrolling platformer with RPG and crafting elements. In short, it's shaping up to be the biggest Metroidvania release in recent memory - already surpassing its original Kickstarter goal by sixfold. As of right now that is.

We're huge fans of IGA and Castlevania, so when we heard that Koji Igarashi was returning to the genre we knew we wanted to work with the team to play our part in getting this amazing spiritual successor out there, completely DRM-free, with our signature kind of customer love.

That's why we're excited to announce that we'll be supporting the upcoming release with DRM-free versions to all Kickstarter backers of the game pledging $28 or more!

Everyone who backs the project at the $60 tier (or higher) will receive not only a DRM-free digital copy of the game, but also exclusive backer-only content and access to the beta, all right here on GOG.com.

You can make your pledge over on Kickstarter, and stay tuned for future backer updates with more details on how to get started with your access to the beta.

$5.5 million. Wow. Most-funded video game on Kickstarter.
Yeah, that's a lot of money. It will being interesting to see if Igarashi and friends can deliver. :)

It would actually be surprising if they didn't deliver. Most the groups involved have pretty damn good reputations and a lot of experience.
Sooooo, dumb question... the way this is worded, I'm confused about something: does EVERYONE who pledges at $28 or $60 or whatever get a digital GOG version? Or just those who back at tiers that include a digital copy of the game and choose the GOG version?

Deliver as in deliver upon the high expectations of fans. I have no doubt they'll have something to show for the time and money. :)

$60 physical needs a GOG key of some sort for the beta.

Here's how I interpreted the situation:

$28 digital <-- GOG key Bloodstained standard edition
$60 physical <-- GOG key Bloodstained standard edition, special kickstarter dlc, disc with v1.00 installer
$60 digital <-- GOG key Bloodstained digital deluxe edition, special kickstarter dlc
Woah! Can't believe they ended up listening to our demands. Well done, guys. :)
Great, great, Roguelike Dungeon is unlocked! But is the stretch goal, boss' revenge, unlocked? That would be pretty badass, controlling bosses, trampling on heroes and all! What great ideas those people have! So, is it achieved, is it achieved???

Even if it was 'your thing' as late to the party as you are you'd be S.O.L.

Before Bloodstained I had never heard of GOG. There are some who will prefer Steam because they are familiar with it, We have a growing community at bloodstainedfanforums.com , and one of the things we keep coming back to is GOG vs. Steam. I am honestly very unfamiliar with GOG and encourage people who are testing Galaxy to come over to our forums and let us know why getting Bloodstained on GOG will be a better experience.

If anyone from GOG just happens to read this, thank you for this service. "I'm interested in this." -Alucard
